I expect we've done this before but I thought an up to date version may be useful if people are looking to buy and want to know where's reliable and give good service.

My favourites are:

Eileen Douglas tack shop, as some of you know they stock some Ariat riding tights at heavily discounted prices as long as you don't mind last season's colours! Good prices on a lot of stuff, fast delivery, and if there is a problem they're very efficient at sorting it out.

Redpost are another store with fast delivery and helpful staff if you have questions. They've got a good range of products, loads to choose from.

Viovet have got better again after a spell where delivery was a nightmare.

Another vote for Eileen Douglas online.
They are very helpful.

I've had a couple of things from Le Mieux and they arrived quickly too and lovely items.

Viovet have the items I want but simply will not post to me, I've tried every which way to convince them normal postage rules apply even though it's an island to no avail. I know other people on here have used them in Shetland but I don't know how they managed to get them to post because I can't.

Oakfield Saddlery were close to where I used to live and they post up here without any bother and I'm pleased to say I've had some lovely things from them as well.

I used Viovet for the first time recently. There was a glitch ordering online. But when i rang they processed my order straight away. Delivered next day.
Ive had stuff from Just Horse Riders but ordered through Amazon.

Any recommendations for electric fence supplies. I need some more electric gate handles. Ive had at least 3 give up recently. Some are vintage. So the plastic handles have had many years of all winds and weathers. Plus i could do with some more as ive just altered the paddocks. Pack of 5 or 10 im thinking.

I just bought a step mounting block on e-bay. I started buying Lego on ebay and then during lock down rings and nice clothes. Small suppliers use ebay as a market place. There are lots of electric fence parts there. but dont part with your money unless you are sure that the parts are what you want and the price is fair.

I got These ones but from another source (now closed), they’ve been going 3yrs+ and are still good as new, much better than some cheaper ones.

It's anyone familiar with the Caballo short boot sold by ED tackshop. It looks like a cheaper version of ariat which I liked but trashed within three months!
Saying that, three months is my usual for footwear.

I don't, but you could ring them and ask. That said I've never found any riding boots, lond or short, that are as comfortable as Ariats but that doesn't mean you won't.

Not seen those. I brought the shires eleonora as they looked like a cheaper version of Ariat’s which I love but resent paying that much to maybe get a year out of. They’re ok, but no where near as comfortable, they’re quite narrow in the foot and the laces are annoying as they don’t tighten evenly all the way down and don’t loosen easily to take off. They’re all right but I won’t buy more.

I have just got walking boots for the winter in the sale, so will keep my eyes on these. Hopefully my Jodhpur boots are just for riding 😂
I just can't justify the cost of Ariat when the sole is worn out so quick.

I have the Shires Spanish style riding boots for actually pottering about on her in. But for day to day wear Ariat wellies - love them. On my second pair and they are the only ones that do not freeze my feet in winter nor boil them in summer. Jodhpur boots I love my Hy equestrian ones. Got those at the feed merchants up here, they are super comfy and lovely. I haven't ridden in them but I do wear them to go to town and occasionally for walking Storm in hand.

I have some vintage poly poles lol
Bought at Robinsons Equestrian twenty years ago and they are still okay (bit bent but still do the job). Gate wise I have the cheap and cheerful ones bought locally from our feed merchants. They are quite brittle though. I think they are unbranded. I know they do the Gallagher ones which are expensive but look sturdy.
