I met with friends yesterday for our Halloween ride, Saturday afternoon and all night it hammered down, I was so smug that I had rugged Jess up so she wouldn't look like she'd been dragged through a hedge When I finally ventured out to sunshine on Sunday morning I was relieved. Just before I tacked up I took her rug off, then remembered I needed to go turn my water off so left her loose and went for all of 2 mins to do it, by the time I came back she had rolled
This might not look very muddy, it was more wet and sandy
Anyway I rode down to the next village to meet old friends and some joining us for the first time (I organized this as part of my local horse riders group, I try to organize 1 social a month) and we had some great costumes, I went as a zombie but one of the ladies joked I looked more like a bag lady It was all a bit last minute as I just haven't felt up to organizing much as I didn't know until sat afternoon if I was going to get to ride (the saddle thing). We also had a couple of witches, a black cat, a werewabbit, a vampire bride, and a skeleton
We crossed a couple of roads and rode alongside 1, we didn't half get some funny looks
We stopped at the pub for a drink before parting company and heading home, 4 hours after departing Jess and I finally got home, it was a long day but the weather was perfect and the company outstanding It was a pretty goo test for the new saddle too, she went ok but she never really objects, so I am anxiously waiting to give her back a poke tonight and see how she feels.
