Harry Dabbs / Jaguar Saddles

I've only seen the Jaguar dressage and was fairly unimpressed with the bearing surface. Certainly would not be my ideal for a wide horse. tree struck me as being rather banana shaped as well.

My trainer won't have one on her yard after it cost her now GP horse the World Young Horse dressage championship through making him sore.

OTOH friend of mine has one and loves it.

One thing I have noticed when out competing is that with the dressage ones that they all seem to roll to the right.

Jaguar Saddle

I have a jumping Harry Dabbs Jaguar saddle and I love it. I did have to have it slightly altered for my current horse but it is a wonderful saddle. I have the matching tack (bridles girth etc) and they are all great quality items.

I had one of the jump saddles for my warmblood, and personally wouldn't go for another as I had to return it a month later. She's fairly standard shape/size for her breed and not difficult to fit a saddle to. However, as the flocking settled (which is normal to a certain extent) the saddle shifted really badly and was pinching my horse so I had to stop using it pretty pronto. It certainly wasn't how it was fitted in the first instance and I was surprised at how quickly it changed shape through relatively little use. I now have an albion and love it. It's had significantly more use and is doing fine. Even my sensitive pretenious mare likes it! ;) But the Dabbs are cheaper - just wouldn't bother trying another one.
