I think my 7 year old mare may be starting ot headshake! But what baffles me is I can take her out one day and she can be really bad stamping and shaking etc, but the next day she's just fine. Is it because of the weather. I find she headshakes more when it is a fine or sunny day. Should I stop riding her?

The headshaking could be due to the amount of pollen or other allergens in the air. Your horse could be sensitive to it. Some horses benefit from wearing a nose net when out. It's worth a try.

I tried her with a nose net, but she spent more time to rub it off and looked very uncomfortable with it on. I have never used it agian. Should I still try it and try and get her used to it or is there something else to try and stop her?

Keep trying with the nose net to see if she will get used to it, is it a net recommended for head shakers ? I found the equilibrium briliant. You mention she is worse in the sunshine, we also use the equilibrium face mask which fits easily onto the bridle, these two combined have given us 100% improvement. Have her teeth been checked ? also check for ear mites, both of these need to be ruled out as they can often a cause of headshaking.
