Having a really bad week with pets atm!. Came home this afternoon to find Pussycat waiting for us, he normally hears the car and comes to meet us, never strays very far from home

Anyway, he looked a bit "odd" when he came in, was his normal self - I went to feed/rug horses and when I came home, he was lying on our bed looking kind of "odd" He went to stand up to greet me and couldnt:eek: Phoned vet (not the gpig one;)) tried the one we use for the bigger pets and they opened the surgery for him at 5.30pm. Anyways, vet thought he's either been shot or hit by car:eek: poss broken back leg. Anyway, shes just called and the good news is nothing broken but he's taken one hell of a clout from something - no pellets lodged so being shot is a no no.

He's being kept in overnight and poss tomorrow night too as in shock from whatever has happened to him:mad:

Good Vibes please!

Thanks Ceiron - he already has one bad leg from an accident before he came to live with us - he was a stray who lived on the farm rubbish dump..... Not had the best of times all in all.

He came home today but I have to take him back to the vets in the morning, he's dosed up to the hilt with pain killers and is sat next to me as I type. Still have no idea what has happened to him and I guess we'll never know but at least he appears to be on the mend.

I hope he's better soon. My lovely Panther pussycat came home looking odd one day almost a year ago. I couldn't pinpoint what it was but he went into shock and I had him pts as everything was shutting down. Since then, I sort of believe he was attacked by a dog, a friends dog (although never admitted) XXXXXXXX

Sorry to hear that about your cat, we also thought maybe a dog had caused this but not so sure. It's also been suggested that it could have been caused by a human kick:eek: There are only a few houses where we live but "someone" keyed my new pick up on Friday(its a 54 plate but new to me) so is there a person with a grudge? Maybe the vet can shed a bit more light when we go back tomorrow.

happyhacker101,
hope his leg gets better and he can get out of the vets as soon as possible.

were any nails in his front paws looking ripped out or damaged/broken?
have known someone whos cat was definitely hit from behind by a car and she was told by her vet when cats are hit by cars, they have a reaction to get away quick which usually means damaging the nails on the hard ground, lilo needed pins putting in her leg and her jaw wiring but she was ok.

coud someone have kicked Pussycat [is that his name,or just description?] ,kicked something into him,or coud he fell from a height badly on his back leg?
whatever has happened, get him some of the finest nip for his return, poor boy.

Hugs to Pussycat... One of our came in very simular, never worked out what had happened, except he does like to talk to the horses...maybe a kick. Fully recovered but a tad more cautious(sp) now...thank god.

hope he/she fully recovers.:)

Am pleased to report that Pussycat is home (yes, this really is his name - I couldnt think of anything to call him when he turned up:o)

The vets were brilliant with him, he's not allowed outside for a few more days but he is allowed in our enclosed dog pen to get some fresh air, still a little sore but not like he was on Saturday night. We've looked at his claws and no sign of any damage, he was clean when he came in that night too - its a bit of a mystery. We thought maybe he'd been butted by one of the goats or kicked by one of the horses but he never goes that close to them - guess theres always a first time though. We also thought maybe he'd fallen out of a tree - because he already has one bad back leg - his balance isnt that great.

Nice to have him home though - house wasnt the same without him - even hubby missed him!
