Well, i said that i had sent Nelsons hair away for analysis. I got the results back today, im absoloutly amazed!! Its made me really think twice about todays science way of things!
Nelson is on 1xbute a day and 1xscoop synequin a day with grass hay and feed.
As a whole nelson is a perfectly healthy horse. but,.....

He has acid in his tummy, due to him being fed enough, but its not filling him up hence why he is feeling a bit down and has gas.
He also has deep muscle damage, which is making him very difficult to ride, because he is sore, he is lacking in calcium hence why he is stiff.
So, he is going to be put on calcium phosphorus and magneseium phosphorus, calcium for his joints and magneseium for his muscle repair!!
In 3 months, he should be a new horse!!

YAY!

Wow, can I ask where did you get this done, it sounds fascinating! And definitely something for me to consider having done with my boy, he has some metabolic issues and I would love to know exactly what hes lacking in. Off to do some googling research!

I got it done at a place near me called Rapha, they specialise in analysing people and pets. all you do is send some hair away to them, and they do a DNA test etc etc... its amazing!!!
www.rapha.com

The pet testing is free, for people its aaround £100.

The minerals that you need to give, what form are they in, just wondering if you'd been prescribed tissue salt tablets?

Did you have to pay for the service and if so how much? Or are pets really done for free?
