so im going to loan a pony, google says its okay and im in the weight range but im 5ft and 11 stone and the horse is a 12.2hh stocky cob, is it okay for me to ride them or do I weigh too much

This question gets asked a lot. And there are a variety of answers. What sort of weight is the pony used to carrying? How fit / healthy is the pony? What is the pony's current workload and how experienced are you? Are you a good capable rider and do you have a good position? A learner rider that is nervous or simply hasn't had many lessons won't sit like one that is capable and has a good seat (which would distribute their weight evenly.) How old is the pony? What will you be doing with the pony? You aren't too tall, but I am not sure on the weight because you also have to add into that tack. Sorry for all the questions! I'm sure others will chip in.

As @Trewsers has said it depends on so many things other than height and weight.

Another important thing to factor in is does the saddle fit both of you well so that your weight is wll distributed over the areas that should be weight bearing and keeps you balanced - this can be a big issue with cobs because they tend to be short backed with big shoulders.

Probably the best thing you can do is try him, ask the owneer to be honest about how you are on him and how he's coping and also get an honest assessment from a good instructor. Do not rely on google!

Is there an advert with photos? Read it carefully to pick up all th information you can, and have a good look at the photos for build, conformation, and size of rider he already carries. Also speak to the owner and ask her if he's likely to be suitable for your height and weight.
