Hibi-scrub

well,
on my horse i have allways mixed it with warm water and then just sponged it on.
but my dog has lip fold infections and my vet told me to put it on neat and then wash of with water.
also, does anyone know if it harms them to swallow a bit because she licks it while im doing it?:cool:

I have used it both ways.

If a particularly dirty cut/nasty infection then I would use it neat (just a small amount) however if a large area or somethigng that isnt too dirty I would dilute it.

I normally dilute it like the vet does in warm water. I had to dilute it in my brew pot yesterday (was the only clean vessel I had to hand!) as madam has scraped her hock in the stable (think I'm going to have to invest in rubber matting after all).

Not a spaniel by any chance ? I`ve had the same problem on a few occasions with our cocker.
I diluted the hibiscrub, then made sure (as per vet) to pat dry
He was also on anti-biotics :)

If you are having to use it quite often, I would dilute it. I've heard it can be quite harsh and cause irritation if used to much.

Try not to let him swallow it, I remember when my rabbit had an abscess removed from under his chin. We had to wash him with hibiscrub to stop the infection and the vet pointed out try not to let him swallow it.
