Hello all, my 14.2 Lippitt Morgan bites her chest when at a trot. She's great at a walk and at a trot in the long lines. Has anyone had this problem? I'm speculating that it's an ulcer. Sound familiar to anyone?

I have only known horses bite themselves if in pain or under stress.
Its like a displacement.

I agree it sounds like she's in pain. I've no experience of ulcers but is she biting the same place each time? Could she have a thorn or something lodged in her chest? I've had thorns deeply embedded in my knee before but have only felt them when I made certain movements - there was no sign on the surface of my skin so I only worked out what had happened when my body finally pushed them out a few weeks later .

I'd also second LindaAd's suggestion of checking all the 'standard' points if only to eliminate them.
