my youngster is about 1.5 (probably a bit younger) and he’s around 13hh atm, he’s quite bum high, i’d say 14-15hh but i’ve got nothing to measure off, opinions on how tall he should get at full maturity? he’s a cob x standardbred with the sire being 15.1 and dam being 14.2 (both approx)

A hand is 4”, he doesn’t look 8” higher behind in that picture, 1 row of bricks using the wall behind so about 3”, but that depends if the floor is level and if he’s stood square. I agree with @Jessey that he's not as bum high as you think. At his age he still has lots of time left to grow, I don't know about standardbreds but cobs are often late to mature. Height really is a guess at this stage, though somewhere between the parents heights is likely unless they're known to throw large or small stock.

I agree with @Jessey that he's not as bum high as you think. At his age he still has lots of time left to grow, I don't know about standardbreds but cobs are often late to mature. Have found more info on parents and sire was actually 13.2hh and dam was 15hh

Standard breds tend to be 15-16hh so he should with a bit of luck make 15hh at least if he takes after mum

My Arab/saddlebred x Welsh lad was 14.2 @ 2yo out of a 14.2 mare and a 15.3 sire, he’s 15.2 now at 4yo.
My QHx mare was 14.2 as a yearling and final height was 15.1, her dam was 15.3 and sire 15hh.
