I'm in the process of having a sort out.

I've got several bags of chaff and one sack of speedi beet that are open. But I don't know when they were last used. Within the last 6 months at least. The speedibeet looks alright but wondering if I should just turf it along with the veteran chaff or will it keep ?

The bags usually have use by dates on them somewhere. Speedibeet keeps for ages, I am useing a bag I opened the end of last winter.

Chaff should be ok as long as its dry and not mouldy, or too dusty. Have a sniff and a poke at it, if thats ok its ok

I opened a bag in September, one bag does all winter. In April I chuck it, by next winter it will be off, or green.
That's having a pony, one feed bag per year!!!!
