how much for livery ?

I was paying approximately £300 pcm for two horses on DIY grass livery with a stable, but having to provide my own bedding and on occasions my own hay.

i now rent a yard with 2 loose boxes, tack room, feed room and large field for £50 per horse per month. quite a difference. having had a terrible experience at my last livery yard i would never put my babies into a livery yard again, but i know that this is not possible for a lot of people. i'd check the livery yard out thoroughly first, a lot of the yards up here look ok but theres a lot of bitchiness. i caught one of the other liveries hitting my horse when he was in his stable doing nothing to bother anyone, so i'm very wary now.
 
I pay £26 per week per pony this includes use of school and fields and stable etc (straw is £1.00 per bale and hay is £2.50 a bale) so as you can see by my final figure they don't go through too much. I don't use this service but you can get them brought in and taken out for £1.50
 
i only do part livery thats every thing except for riding which i dont want anyone to ride my horse!

the cost at the moment is £120 a week which is a lot for part livery outside of london (£520 a month)

i used to pay £90 a week

you can normally get a place at a professionals (famous riders) yard from around £150 - £200 a week which in many cases is full livery, i am tempted to have my horse with a show jumper but the turn outs not great that would be £180 a week full livery.
 
I have full livery on a fantastic yard just outside London and pay £65 a week including feed, hay and bedding and we have a floodlit sand school to use. No official exercise but i know the YO would ride my horse for me if i wanted.

I once put a horse on working livery for 3 months and he had an awful experience which he never 100% got over....though saying that i know of some fantastic yards where the working liveries are probably better cared for then some of the privately owned horses!
 
I pay 210 a month for my two which includes as much haylege as you want. Bedding is extra for them, we have a little outdoor school that is free to use
 
I pay £41 per week for DIY livery but this includes 7 days a week turnout with rugging when needed, big haynet full of haylage every evening and paper bedding which because she's on rubber usually 1 bale lasts almost a week so I probably get through 3 bales of paper every 2 weeks.

I do mucking out and bed, turning in and haylage feeding in the afternoon/evenings and have unlimited access to indoor and outdoor schools.

I like the routine we have and look forward to seeing my mare every day, grooming etc and it gives me a chance to check her over every day for any problems, healthwise, lost shoes etc, I don't think I would like her on working livery, I would rather ride her myself or have someone on her I know to be a kind rider, but this is OK for me to say because I only work till 1pm so have every afternoon and weekend free, I know there's a lot of you who can't get to do this, so maybe working livery is a good option to keep up exercise and the socialising with people side of things!
 
Wow! I always knew I was really lucky with where I keep my horse but I never realised some people had to pay so much for DIY livery!! I pay £6.75 per week for DIY. This includes grazing & a 15' x 15' stable in a barn. We have to use their hay but it is excellent quality and always in abundance if a little more expensive than other suppliers. We have 9 acres (7 horses & 3 cows!) of really good grazing and never need to put hay out. We don't have a school but have access to a neighbours. The owner does also have adjacent land where we can build cross country training fences.
