I'm such an idiot!

Echo all the others! Dont feel silly at all!

I get my OH to led me & Fin if i feel scared!

Shows should do a lead rien class for us oldies LOL!

I am a HUGE fan of the lead rein. Some days all I want is for OH to lead me around on the lead rope (sitting on the horse...:mstickle:), and yet other days I'm happy to go solo hacking, sometimes with a bit of a gallop too...

I'm the same age, and I blame the menopause..:hot::cold::hot::cold:

Update

Well, I went out to the barn after work today and tried to put Sunday's experience out of my mind. Gave Rusty a good grooming and just got on with things. No issues at all! He was back to his usual self and we did some transitions (after reading some posts on here, I'm practicing that) and even a wee canter.

I need to remember that he is an animal with feelings, not a machine, and things like high winds may upset him. I can accept that!

Don't feel embarrassed, it's great that you got on and it's even nicer that you have support from friends at your yard.

I once got my friend to lead me round the block when I wanted to start hacking out a pony I had on loan a few years ago. There is no shame it that and it got my confidence up.
