Hello,
Just wondering if anyones horse/horses are living out 24/7 un rugged? My two cobbys are a little bit fat so are out with no rugs on but have hay and a field shelter and i feel like sticking rugs on! Lol:p:):)

Ted isn't rugged yet. I might start putting a LW on overnight when it starts raining. He'd probably be alright without, but it would be nice to be able to ride in the mornings, rather than having to wait for his coating of mud to dry - he's a typical mucky boy!!

Joey and my livery are the only ones I have rugged. Oh and Loki but he isn't out he's in and not moving around so had to rug him as he was cold.
The mares are both out unrugged though start of November Bubbles will probably start being rugged as she has lost some weight and is getting on a bit.

Lilly's out naked cos she's quite fat, has a lightweight on when it rains though because she has rainscald. All cobs are too and the PBA.

I have 2 foals out in all weathers 24/7 unrugged with hay. The others are out in the day with a rainsheet if needed... soon to go up to a mediumweight as the wind has picked up alot and the field is very exposed and its not very warm in the day now either :(

Mine are out unrugged too, although one is a shetland so doesn't really count:cool: But they did last winter nekkid too and came out of it still too round!:D

My 2 foals are out unrugged although when the weather's really vile I bring them in overnight to dry out. Dolly's rugged overnight and when it rains as she has a high trace clip.

My two and three year old are out unrugged - I did wonder today, but then I put the weigh tape around them and very quickly decided that it's not that cold yet and they can burn fat to keep themselves warm

Naked and still in her grazing muzzle. No plans to rug unless it snows although towards the very end of the year I will put on a rainsheet.

She is so fat I had the vet out today to make sure she isnt pregnant!

For the first year ever I'm am rugging due to her being underweight, normally however she is out 24/7 unrugged and my sisters fell is spending the winter unrugged again. I think its better to avoid rugging where possable. :)

Kai is out this year 24/7 ( in past few years he has been in on nights in winter) however hes currently happily getting hairy, and has good natural shelter along two sides of his paddock. Still has plenty of grass so hes being very economical at the moment :D I'm just going to play it byear. He has a nice fat layer to live of for now;)

Mine is going to get get rugged now even though he is a NF as it is going to be very cold next week and going down to a feels like temp of -8.

He is going to get clipped soon anyway.
