Well a week ago storm became rather sluggish to ride, and started tripping over alot, and after assessing him we found his back right hock had swollen.
He was rather lame in trot but seemes ok on grass and softer surfaces.

After a week of not working, I went down to take some pictures today. On the left inside of his right hock (the one with the white sock in the pictures) there seems to be a roundish puffy swelling, which to touch is fluidy. It feels like his windgalls on his fetlocks. (are they linked?)

So if anyone could take a look at the pictures and see wether they can spot a bog spavin? or something else or nothing? Obviously the vet will be called quite soon if it hasnt gone down, but i thought this would be the best place to start!

So here are the pictures (I also only know a little (whats in the books) about bog spavins so if anyone has any personal experience then it would be gladly appreciated) thanks in advance! xx

hi i dont know if you mean bone spavin but if it is my mare had this 2 years ago my vet said it is a type of arthiritis that is hidden in the bone and with time the cartligages would regenerate and repair themselves and she would be fine which she is although it was very painful for her at the time and i was advised not to give her bute as it slows down the healing process. you would never know she has it as it can only been seen on x-rays. i hope this is what you mean and this info helps.

Lady had that a few months back, diagnosed with Lymphangitis.

Its a fluidy swelling that has something to do with the lymph nodes/glands, had to cold hose everyday for 10mins.

That probably didnt help at all really did it!:p
