Katie and Oscar entered an 80cm ODE and put in a solid, confident performance in all 3 phases. So pleased for her. She has worked so hard with that pony!!
The event was a Pony Club/ BRC event, set up for people fairly new to eventing so although the course was up to height, about 12 of the 18 jumping efforts XC had easier options though there were 15 penalties for each easier option taken. So she planned to start on the 80 but was prepared to use the easier options if necessary. But they actually jumped the full course in the end.
It was really nerve wracking as I could not see her most of the time. I heard the commentator say she was clear at fence 9 and 'looking very professional' then a bit later I heard 'Katie and Oscar having rather an eventful round now' which was NOT what I wanted to hear!! A few anxious moments then I saw them flying round the corner into view and safely over the last few. Turned out it was just a couple of stops at skinny roll top which she jumped 3rd time of asking and no probs after that.
Next stop another 80 ODE next weekend......
