probably a thread in here somewhere about QH's..but I wanted to start one.

so here it is let me see your Quarter Horses..(or your loan ones lol)

let me know what you do with them, name (barn and reg name if they have one), and age..if you want to put anything else on go ahead..

here are mine:

Ollie, or A Slo Temptation sire: Slo Slippin Sam dam: I'm Pretty Tempting

yearling, sorrel (although he is "roaning"), bred to be western pleasure horse, and goal is to be trained within the next year or so and shown by me in the affiliated AQHA shows in Alberta Canada.

showned here on July 18th placed third out of 6 horses in against MATURE geldings class, first time shown.

My other is a 18 year old mare Carol or IBA Sassy Too. SIRE: IBA Intimidator (deceased halter stud in Germany) DAM: Sassy Ray Mount (all around late 80's Canadian National Champion deceased aswell to my belief)

has been ridden for 3 years consectutivly now..won ribbons in showmanship (1 first, several 3rds and forths, and 2 fifths) never doesn't place in showmanship, show in halter with many ribbons in the 4-6th range, and has started showing in western pleasure and western equitation on the local circuits. Will be in her first parade starting next year. And has produced an affiliated shown filly in the Hunt Seat and English disclpines winning 2nd over all 3 yr old filly in Canada:).

Jethro is about 75% QH

He is technically a breeding stock paint but with a foundation QH sire he is more Quarter horse than many AQHA registered horses.

He is aimed at endurance and trec but mostly cross country riding as in travelling 20 -30 miles a day.

Three quarter horses, one paint, one appaloosa,

keket! I had no idea you ahd 2 horses! I have only heard of coquette..but the bay is to die for..:D

I love em all but they are a fat bunch aren't they. Not a rib showing anywhere. Is this a breed trait, or an "owner problem".

mine are not fat! I have trouble keeping fat on them so I take the quote as a compliment! (the show pics they were being fed 3x more than what the feeding requirements are for there weight! which included full choice of long grass (alfalfa, and wild mixes) then alfalfa cubes at 20 pounds each a day, then a coffee tin of grain, with a few flakes of hay for boredom) and one of them doesn't work becasue he is a yearling, and the other is ridden in light work due to her age..both are registered, purebred QH..just pure muscle in them both..:D

Haha, neither are mine. Coquette's my lease horse (only until the end of August unfortunately, then rent steals the money I need for her). Matt's a riding school horse owned by Coquette's owner. Gorgeous boy, I'm totally in love with him.:D

And where are all these fat Quarter Horses, anyway? Matt and Coquette are both pure muscle. Coquette and Matt both do 2-3 hours of work a day, they certainly aren't fat!

He was bred in Texas as a cutting horse, now has a nice lazy life in the UK riding out in the Cotswolds.
