Hey there,
I worked at Mendip Riding Centre, which was part of Lyncombe Lodge ski centre/activity centre just before it closed down 4 years ago this coming July, and I was wondering if anyone knows of any of the horses sold from there? I'll list what I know, as some were sold on again... sorry it'll be long - if you know any of them, just look for their names!

Teddy - big chestnut gelding with sweet itch, could be grumpy! Went to Cally, but I believe sold on again from around Bristol Airport way?

Dino - Bay TB gelding, went to full livery in London - again, grumpy! Maybe for sale again, poss in Derbyshire?

Eddie - gorgeous, hairy dun highland gelding cob, with bad scarring from mites on his legs. VERY slow!! I believe sold on again from near Westerleigh.

Georgie - 14hh ish bay roan mare, hogged, sold on again by Mark (?) and Hayley (?) from near Severn beach, and also sold on from them...

Smurf - 15hh ish liver chestnut - he was sold on from above people as a 14 yr old I think, but he was actually 30, I know! Bit headshy, nervous of being bridled or loaded or going into dark spaces.

Jack - 16.2 gelding shire x - went to lovely people near Sand Bay, Weston - is he still there? Hogged mane, dark bay, white face.

Misty - 13.2hh ish highland x, white/grey mare - went to working livery at Tynnings on Mendip. Still there?

Chalky - white/grey gelding 12hh sold on by woman with disabled daughter

Pudding - 12hh liver chestnut gelding- about 16 years old - a bit cheeky. Sold on by farmer, I think.

Rufus - 14.2hh Haflinger gelding. Went to child called Amy, guy called Steve. Is he still there. His companion was...

Archie - miniture spotted gelding, about 4 years old.

And one I forgot! - Cinnamon - 14.2ish kind of dull chestnut gelding, about 13 yrs old. He had interesting white stockings I think on his back legs, or maybe the fronts! He was a cob, and ALWAYS fat! Used to buck a bit, not so friendly with other horses. Sold to a girl near Weston - is he still there? - turns out yes! he is!!

there is already a post on here somewhere about this-have a search, hope you find it! :D I don't remember any of those but its some years since i went.

We have Jack! Well my house mate owns him and I chose him. He now lives in Shipham, so is back in his old hacking area. He is a bit fat and lazy but very happy! His owner is Plod on here. He doesnt come on here that often though I dont think.

Forgot to say we also had Flynn. Bright bay mare with s whites and a blaze. About 15.3 I think. Bought cheap by us as they said she was unsound. Always sound with us though! I sold her to my house mate and he eventually passed her on to a dealer.

Oh awesome, I'm glad Jack is well, He was lovely :) Were you the orginal person who bought him, Widget? Do you know what happened to Flynn after she went to the dealer? I'm glad she remained sound with you :) I have to admit I'd completey forgotten about her!! :( Did you have her a while before the centre closed?

Forgot about this thread. I was the original person who viewed and rode jack to try him out for my house mate Alan. Alan bought him from the lodge and still has him. I dont know what happened to Flynn after she went. I hope she got a nice home, but you never really know once they are gone.

I bought Lily from Lyncombe Lodge. She's a beautiful Anglo/Irish mare 15.2, but I bought her years before it closed. She was bought as extra summer stock and came with another horse that became known as The Walrus! They were both a bit huge as they'd spent the summer eating while their owners got divorced. I wonder what happened to the Walrus, Lily pined for her for ages, does anyone know?
