Goodness knows what he’s been up to, but got him saddled up and just picking feet to find a slightly swollen left fore, just below the knee. It’s a bit warm and slightly tender, though he appears sound. So no riding for us today the swelling all but went with cold hosing, gave him a bute and will see how it looks in the morning.

Fingers crossed it's just a tweak.

Raf had a large soft swelling on his jaw a couple of nights ago. It wasn't there when I fetched them in, but it was definitely there at last thing checks. I thought I'd be ringing the vets the next day but it completely disappeared overnight. Goodness knows what they get up to.

It’s no worse today, the swelling is less but it’s still tender if I poke it, so I’ve been putting cooling soothing gel on it. He’s still not lame so hopefully it’s just a hoick and it’ll settle with rest.

Tenderness now gone and no swelling, though I did give him bute last night, I’ll probably give him that for another couple of days and a couple of weeks off just to be sure.
