hello glad you are back

After the process you have been through I guess you are sick of everyone saying it takes time but hay ho it is true. Not usre about a club in Cornwall but any RDA centre will be happy to let you have a chat and may be try some stuff out when you are ready. Also when you are really up for getting back in to it I would give Juliet Seal (the british dressage Para rep for South West) a call as she seems to know about loads of clubs and activities going on in the South West.
If you are low find a driver and go and have some fur therapy with your horse it always helps me. Not that I have had your experiance I have just lost the use of one arm but I definatly have gone through a griving process with that and still there now. Trying Tia Chi to relearn to balence as when on a horse still rather all over the place.

I bet lots of people have viewed your thread Moonbeam and haven't replied not because they don't want to but because they don't know what to say.
I did this yesterday, hoped someone better than me would come along and have something comforting to say or with good advice.
Glad Juniberry has posted but thought I'd stick my tuppence worth in too.:)
You have been through something most of us here can barely comprehend. I can try to imagine how I might feel in your position, and I can only say I would be in a pit of depression too. You must cut yourself some slack and take things slowly, treat yourself kindly.
It is great that you have kdoran, good friends are worth their weight in gold when the chips are down.
I am sure that you will be able to get your life back to how you want things, albeit with some adaptation, and I applaud you for going on with your riding. Makes me feel quite pathetic with all my stupid mental worries, I will try to give myself a kick up the bum to keep up with you :)
Have you contacted RDA to see if there is a group in your area that might be of some assistance? Don't know what your horsey aspirations are but from what I understand in my local area (New Forest) they support folks from people riding purely for relaxation and fun through to very serious competitive riders.
It is terrible that you have to fanny about with red tape re the driving. I also wonder whether you might get help from any sort of disability advocacy type service as others must have gone through the sort of hassles you face before and they might have some tips on the driving and all sorts of other things. Just a thought.
Anyway, thinking of you and will be looking out for your updates!
Great name by the way - Moonbeam is sort of my OH's pet name as it is a play on his name :o how sad am I?
Keep your chin up and don't let the b*stards grind you down :D

i do beleive there was a talk of a devon/cornwall meet, youd be more than welcome.

if you can get to devon, on yr own or with a friend you are more than welcome to come and meet me and my neds and have a good chat.

Hello there! just wanted to say if you're lonely and need a chat please do come on here and you are always welcome to Pm me - I love a good natter!!! Can't even begin to imagine what you are going through - every word I type seems rather inadequate - and I'm not sure what to say, apart from sending you tons and tons of happy positive vibes. And I really really hope you are on your way to recovering enough ride - take care, and I hope you aren't missing your hoss too much. (I'm sure said hoss will be just fine until you can meet again!!!) Trewsersxxxxx

It is so difficult to know what to say. We have never met and I do not know your full story, but I just wanted to give you a big NR hug. Wish I was closer, then I would happily come and be a driver for you (I have an automatic car now, which means I can cope with driving again :)). Keep us updated with how you are getting on.

Ali xx

thank you very much for all those lovely encouraging words. I am home now and with kdoran's help and her being bossy, she has made me get back in the yard. its really hard but just being around the lovely smells of horses again does you good. and with every bodies encouragement I will get there and being on NR has helped so much. Its nice to meet other people with disabilities who can still ride.
