New Horse training method?

It looks like he is trying to lunge with two lunge ropes but the horse doesn't have a scooby what is expected and seems a bit spooked by the second line!

Oh does he, the quality on this computer is rubbish and I also don't have sound. That's horrible, I did wonder why the horse was quite so worked up.:(

I can't see it - I don't have a fb account. But it sounds dreadful. Some folk want a dam good kicking for doing rotten stuff in the name of training.

I watched it at home on my lunch break and saw and heard it. It looks like he zaps it properly near the start then after that just relies on the noise to get it moving. Poor horse is going to go crazy every time it hears that noise. I'm not sure I'd like to be on it when it hears it again! What a shame, it looks like a lovely horse.

I haven't watched it as it sounds awful. Amazes me the things that people post on things like facebook and youtube.

I really can't be bothered with increasing their 'views'. Sounds barbaric, and I cannot believe that anyone would be stupid enough to decide to 'train' their horse in this fashion.

I think this has been on You Tube. Not watched but I thought the zapping dog collar was illegal so pretty sure this would be.
It always amazes me why people see a need to dominate an animal that realistically only does as we ask of it.
Some people would be so screwed if they had a predator on their line, not a prey animal!

I used to get told mine "needed sorting out" maybe that was true, just not using their harsh methods she wasn't. She is sensitive, something cobs get passed over for. Take away that bulky build and she is just a pony like any other.

This guy needs named and shamed!
It's horrible of him to train a horse through fear, but this stupid idiotic man is not such a tough guy! When he uses the tazer to scare the horse through noise, you can see that he is backing off through fear.
That horse needs to direct it's hooves straight into that mans face :)

Heather Moffett has named and shamed him and fired off a few letters to his governing French body of Show jumpers. He does indeed have a hand held taser in his hand that he uses on the horse

Thanks, Wally - they were talking about 'tazing' the horse, and how many times he'd said he 'tazed' it. But there's nothing about what he was actually trying to do. Poor horse!

Why oh why? I am constantly told by my trainer if the horse doesn't understand today, even if it did yesterday, go back a few steps and build it up slowly again till you get back to where you were. However long it takes. His approach is less less less as little as possible. Absolutely non violent. He might use noise to get a reaction/regain attention.

Poor poor horse. It's unreal seeing someone doing that to a sensitive sentient creature and even worse expecting it to learn anything positive from it!
