Hi everyone,

This is something I've been putting off for a long time, but I think the time has finally come for me to step down from New Rider and pass it on to someone new.

I started newrider.com back around 1995/96, when the internet was a very different place. It was born directly from my own experiences as a beginner adult rider. The questions I had, the things I wished someone had told me, and the community I wanted but couldn't find. Over the years it's grown and evolved, but it's always held on to that friendly, welcoming approach that made it what it is.

What's on offer is more than just a website. It's a long-established domain name, a huge forum archive, and a genuinely engaged community that has stood the test of time. That's rare, and I think whoever takes it on will quickly realise its value.

I also believe there's real untapped potential here; sponsorship deals, a shop, targeted advertising, classifieds, and a much stronger social media presence are all areas that could take New Rider to the next level with the right person at the helm.

To be clear, this is a sale, there will be a purchase price involved, and I'm looking for the right buyer rather than just the first offer. If this is something that interests you, whether you're a long-time member or someone who's been quietly reading along for years, please drop me a private message and we can have a chat.

This community means a lot to me, and I'd love to see it take off with renewed vigour under fresh ownership.

All the best

Mike

(P.S It's not going to disappear as I'm quite content to wait for the right person to come along.)

I'm glad to hear it won't disappear, but sad to think its changing hands. On the upside if the right person (s) come along then it will get busy and thrive. I fear fb, insta, x and tiktok have taken over the world in some ways. But if a way to link them to NR could be found then that might boost things up member wise? Do keep us posted @Mike please - its been a huge part of my horsey life on here, would hate to see it go.

I think with the internet these days people are stopped from giving an opinion or viewpoint.
So the forum life as we knew it isn't there anymore.
It might do a full circle. I got introduced to the forum by a friend.
