my girl seems really scabby,
not big scabs but if you ran your hand the wrong way through her coat little scabbs(like dandruff) are everywhere.
is this something i need to worry about or does she just need a bath (which we are not allowed to do at current yard:mad:)
she also seems a bit patchy, not so much bald spots but shorter darker hair.
this is only on her back and the dandruff stuff is under her mane aswell.
but everywhere else she has a really healthy gleaming coat :o

Has she recently been turned out without a rug? Could be that if she's been rugged, she's just accumulating some "grease" to keep her waterproof. Looks horrible though doesn't it?

A bath would prob sort it out - wonder why you're not allowed to do this on your yard?

ok, i was getting a bit worried.
yes she has just had her rug off, but she was like it under her rug before aswell
where i bought her from the lady used to put shampoo in a bucket with water, and sloosh it on (like sponging down) but not rinse it off, could it be the old shampoo aswell?

err ..becasue my YO is a nutter:p

the bald patches have also only started since she has been out without a rug, and there has been a little rain. (have put a lightweight on for heavy rain) but she has been out in the wet in showers.
could it be a little bit of rain scald (i know nothing about it)

its not that, im allowed to hose down, not use shampoo.
its these things that really annoy me :(
the YO doesnt like shampoo/farriers/fullneck rugs/dentists :(
but obviously have the farrier anyway
cant wait to move

im bringing her home, as soon as my mum gets a horse :) we are hunting now :D

Oh lovely that will make things so much easier i used to get so much grief of my ex YO i was so happy to get thrown of for the horses knocking fences down i was forced to look else where and ended up on a farm in my own field i have never been happier. Good Luck happy home horses x
