On an island
Well, I had to share, (couldn't get on here yesterday I nearly died of excitement on my own:wub:). Yesterday OH and I set off into the school for our usual walking affair (neither of us can trot atm due to horsey health issues). We had set out poles etc for some variety. Anyway, after about 10 minutes I just suddenly felt gripped with boldness and walked over to the far gate, opened it and Joe and OH followed. We had the most amazing hack full of mojo and confidence:dance::dance: Went down the house first and it was sunny and we met a huge Red Admiral on the gatepost:biggrin: Storm thought it was marvellous noseying over the wall at next door's house (they were out:ninja:) then we turned back and rode long the other neighbours land - Storm wanted to have a gallop on it:skull: but I forbade her (he wouldn't have liked that and she's on sick leave for anything bar walk) and then we ventured up the track and right up the top where we used to go two years or more ago. Woo hoo, just can't believe we managed it. Lots of snorts and pricked ears and I didn't get off and I walked her back down on board and then we got back to the school and I made a ridiculous fuss of her and couldn't believe I had managed it. All this from the shakey jelly legged fool of yesteryear.......:smile: Yes, we have hacked before, but not like this for so long.
There, got that lot of my chest......
Sorry, there is more, this morning we repeated it and guess what??????! Actually rode into the FARMERS FIELD THAT HE SAID WE COULD GO AROUND and I was so bloomin brave and there were sheep and rolls of barbed wire (scary) and it was all grassy and lovely and two snorty pricked ears and everything. Ok, I'll end it right there.
Everything else today seems so insignificant now.:cloud9:

well done!

You should be proud of yourselves!!!

Sounds like you suceeded at loads. It's great to have a confidence high isn't it. :spin:

well done all of you!

Thanks, I feel so on top of the world about it. I don't know why, but schooling is fab and I am soooo greatful to have an arena now, but the hacking thing (or lack of) was getting me down, and I know it was getting STorm down, as she has been looking bored and listless! You should have seen her ears prick up and it was so great cos she was really striding out for all the world to see, so proud of herself. Gosh, I am pleased. I tell you, you can keep fags and booze, just the feeling I've got from success with Storm keeps me going!

yep, can understand that :cloud9: feeling

It's odd isn't it I mean I was competing (local level) Harvey and schooling at home but not being able to hack him was a big thing for us. Our hacking still isn't great and don't think OH really understands when I come back from a walk/trot hack elated but arn't quite so elated when we jump a clear round anymore.

Fantastic to read! Good for you. More inspiration for me to hack out again - thanks so much.

Thanks! We are hoping to repeat it again soon! Tomorrow is a big day vet-wise tho, as she is having her nerve blocks and more x rays, unless I can get up extra early and have a sneaky hack early doors.......

Isnt it fab !!! We have hacked out twice in two days, by the end of today LL was like well this is nice but its a bit too much hard work, walking along with her head down low all relaxed. Think she was bored of my chat :bounce:

libbylou, I think it will take a while before Storm gets to the head down nice and relaxed part...lol, I don't mind tho, its been refreshing to see her so "perky" again, I really do think she was bored with being in the school.
