Some of you remember Bailey going out on Loan with view to buy? Well, he's disappeared:frown: Seems they 'sold' him for £100 to some one who's not on that yard..
They claim he's on a different yard, because of some folk not being 'very helpful' but I spoke to some one on FB, and have a different story:frown:
With all the business with the car and getting married, Bailey had to go on the back burner until we could get sorted out..
I'm going up to his old yard, to get an idea of what's actually happened, and see if some one knows where he is, because if what they said is true, then there's trouble brewing:devil:

I just can't believe they'd do some thing like this, been in contact with the loaner, and they say it's not true.. she wouldn't have answered if it was true? Why would anyone say something like that? I found out that Cowdale Hall has given all it's liveries 3 months notice, hence why I set out to find out if Bailey was ok (don't like to bug) through another livery, and got that news, but then they (not the one who I contacted) said that they weren't getting on with other liveries, and moved off, pity they didn't tell me:frown:
Anyway, going to ring her in the morning and get the new yards address if I can, or else I can find him through other means (person I contacted knows some one on that yard supposedly), if what said person is true, he's on the same yard as one of his older siblings..
I've already decided, that if he's settled and ok, I'll leave him where he is, as the 'buyer' was not aware of this, and I don't want to uproot a settled pony :frown:
Before any one jumps on me for being foolish, don't because i'm punishing myself enough through what's happened, the damage is done..
AND TO ANYONE THINKING OF LETTING THEIR HORSE/PONY OUT ON LOAN OR VIEW TO BUY, DO NOT GIVE THEM THE ACTUAL PASSPORT, JUST A COPY, THEN THEY CAN'T PULL A FAST ONE..

Oh no. Hope you get sorted. I'd have to go and see him for peace of mind. If they are genuine they shouldnt mind and should know how you feel. Even if it is Chinese whispers. Good luck

I agree with the above, hopefully it is all 'whispers' and he is fine but would just HAVE to go and see for myself x

Incidently DO they have his Passport?

The law says it should stay with him, and with him being a good distance from me, if anything was to happen, they need it, plus his flu/tet was due last month, and they would need his genuine one for the vet to sign..
With the car at the time not road worthy, we couldn't get up to see him, or them, but I'm getting the yard address and going up..
Seems not everyone on the yard were friendly, and I know people can say awful things to get back at others, this seems a bit too extreme for me to believe..

Just waiting on the postcode now.. I've spoke to the yard, they did a moon light flit, and the yo's have only just realized that they've gone.. Said they're supposed to give a month's notice, or at least tell them they're going..
So they may owe them some rent, they don't know yet, as it was a direct debit account..
There's also a dodgy character who 'may' be involved, not allowed on the yard, but it's that 'dodgy character who 'may' have her claws on Bailey, been told if she does have him, to go and get him, but be careful, she's not a nice person..
This 'dodgy' person, has been claimed as not known by the family.. I have names, so carrying on with my digging..

Oh DS, I am so sorry, what a flippin' nightmare for you, fingers crossed
everything turns out OK xx

Try not to panic too much just yet xxx

The people who 'have' Bailey have been answering my messages, so it's not like they've totally disappeared, I now have Darley Dale as a possible place as to where he is, but they have no car, so can't see why he'd be there, it's a long way from Buxton (used to help at a big yard down there).. Going to get in touch with my friend who runs it, and hopefully she has a few contacts who know of this woman..
All's not lost, it's not about money, it's knowing he's ok, I've requested seeing him, and they're sending me the post code, then we'll be going over and checking him, and what's happened..
Failing that, the yard has the dodgy woman's address and phone number, so that'll be our next port of call..

Having a horse's passport is not proof of ownership, I should give mine to my YO in case she needs to get the vet out when I'm not there, doesn't mean that she could claim he is her horse!

It's every owners worst nightmare - fingers crossed that it's just someone trying to stir up trouble and he hasn't been sold to this other woman

Let us know how you get on, make sure you take someone to the yard with you!

I've just sent an email to a woman who deals in equine law, to see exactly where I stand, I want to blacken the name of the people involved, if what I've been told is true:devil:

This is not sounding good DS - do hope you can get to see Bailey and establish where he is and what the devil is going on with him! Hope you manage to find out more as soon as possible to put your mind at rest.

I feel really numb, I've given them a chance to explain where he is and why they moved him, and still waiting for postcode.. if I don't hear from them tonight, I might well have to get the police involved and give them a real scare..
What annoys me is that he was moved without my consent, as he's still legally mine, and bound to stay at said yard until money passes between hands.. even so, after this incident, if they do prove to be genuine, I have second thoughts as to whether to go through with it now, I think he may be coming home, as soon as he's located.. They should have been honest and kept me informed..
The liveries on their old yard are all shocked at what has happened, they didn't know he wasn't technically theirs yet, and have even been told they had a for sale notice in the tack room, asking for £300..
I'm tempted to gather Oh's lads up, and go knocking
