Hard to tell, but it actually looks as though they lose the stirrups over one fence (when they nearly go out the side door) and then get them back later on ...
 
Did that rider just lose a stirrup? Tis very good that she still managed to complete the course! I do know plenty of riders who can quite happily jump without stirrups though...I personally would struggle (over big jumps), but there are plenty of people even jump without a saddle!
It doesnt make it any less admirable though:)

I know people who regularly jump their horses without saddles/stirrups - seen one friend jump the picnic table bareback :eek: (wont recommend ANYONE do that though)...I certainly wouldnt have the confidence to attempt that...nor would my horse, lol....

Pat and Linda Parelli often jump bare back :D
