Beau is indeed a legend-I've never known such a weirdo! There are loads of bits on the shleves round his box-leadropes, rainscald powder, brushes, gloves, various sprays-he doesn't touch any of them, although he had a bit of a snort at the latex gloves yesterday (his feet were sopping!). I did a 'Can horses have autism?' thread on the vet section, cos he'll stand at the gate and sulk, ignoring the others regardless and my OH has diagnosed him 'hortistic'! He does remind me of the special Needs kids I teach, bless him!

with gates on i have 6 12x12's, i have the gates off as they are free range so that makes them about 18 long by 12 wide, thats for a 17hh who hates to be stabled, but quite happy in those and a 11.1hh:)

Smallest stable i have is 13 x 11 and this is for the shetland :D and I have 2 of them

Them there are 2 that are 16 x 11 and thats for Dante and youngster (at the moment)

Them there are 4 others that are 21 x 21 (i think, havent really measured properly). These are empty at the moment but I have opened up two of them for the Youngster and shetland to shelter in as they lare wintered out at the moment. These lead out into the arena which has a gate into the field. Very handy:D:D

I have four stables which are 3.5m x 4m (11'5" x 13'1"), these accomadate up to 17hh, and a small foaling box which is 3.5m x 5m (11'5" x 16'3") mares and foals up to 16.2hh or single horses over 17hh.

i am going to feel cruel for writing this now when i look at how big your stables are lol!! 8ft by 9ft. She is 12.2, and was in a much bigger stable but got to restless, when i put her in a smaller one she calmed right down!:o

My big 16.3hh dutch warmblood is in a 25x20 stable with all rubber matting she LOVES it. At my old yard she was in a 12x12 and was so depressed she now loves mooching about her stable and now lays down.

My little man 12hh welsh sec a is in the stable next door which is 25x15 and he has half the stable on matting. It is huge for him but he loves it, it also has a high door so keeps him very warm on these cold nights.

Ah Dont feel cruel that is plenty big enough for a little bubba.

What size is your stable, (feet please for us oldies!) and what size is your horse? Would you rather have it bigger, could you cope with it smaller.... etc!

Hi, if anyone needs any help with Stables or Field Shelters in the next few days, i am stuck in the office as my office lady as that darn bug.I can offer help and advice any any part of the above. One major problem we have come across whilst building GG Homes is that most manufacturers tend to quote on set sizes because of standard stock timber length. However to make a 12` Stable 14` would only need an extra 2` of material each side which in the scale of things is negligable. Go for it and have what you want . Hope this is of help Billy
