I think I have made my mind up regarding the livery yard sitch but thinking about it, I have hardly anything left (stuff stolen out the field) so im making a list of everything I will need to go back.

I have a few bits of this list already but so far I have

Water buckets
Haynets
4 feed buckets
Mucking out tools
A stable toy for each box
feed bins
Sugar beet bucket
Knife
Field headcollars and ropes
spare ropes
Tie rings

I cant think of anything else. Have I missed anything. I havent been on livery for 18 months, I cant remember what I need. And any helpful hints for money and time saving

Wheelbarrow and skip I was classing under grooming tools
First aid kit I need to upgrade as its crap and basic
Grooming kit we have but as above!

I would check if your yard provides anything before you rush out and buy everything.
Ours has brooms, fork, plus industrial wheelbarrow if not in use. Tip to save you money. Don't buy until you realise you need it, a stable just means they live in perhaps.

Wheelbarrow I put under mucking out, I don't groom cob with it.

I have a skip type bucket thing with its own fork, the old one with longer handle. Then a large black rubber trug.

Spoon for stirring things
Dustbins for feed
Feed scoops
Scales
Sealed container for succulents

Bedding
Water bucket

Lmfao i knew what I ment in my head!!

I have been donated a fork and own a wheelbarrow and broom but they do provide barrows as well!

Oo wooden spoon is a good one, have a couple of dustbins but need 1 more

Bedding is provided
Water bucket we have (and a tap in the middle of my stables).

Sieve is a good one! Doubles up sugar beet as mine dont like it watery!

If you need to transport water to the paddock I've found a H2Go thingy that fits in the wheelbarrow a godsend. They are about £10.

Last winter we kept one filled up in the barn, it saves breaking the ice at stupid O'clock on a freezing morning.

Oo I will have to check about the water!! I raided the pound shop earlier, for scissors and a sieve and wooden spoons and knives and went and picked up some feed bins. I am ready to move!!

A black marker pen? To write your name on everything because things always get muddled at a livery yard and people like to 'borrow' things too!

Also at our yard we all have a laminated piccy of our horse with contact details of us and vet etc and any special requirements eg must have soaked hay. Which we staple outside their stable so everyone knows which pony goes where and how to get hold of us if there's any problems, or can ring vet etc

I think I'm going to get a white board to leave messages on for full livery days. I like the laminated idea! That's a good one
