Stirrup leathers, Webber’s, or webbing?

I currently use Bates Webbers on my saddle. Now that I am looking to ride Star again I am looking for a second pair of ( cheap) stirrup leather, so I don’t have to keep swapping over between saddles.

I prefer Webbers simply because there is less bulk under my leg, but as we will only be pootling round the school, I’m not really fussed.
So my question is...or are,

Are there any disadvantages of leathers over webbers?

Has anyone ever ridden in webbing ‘leathers’ rather than synthetic or leather?

What length do I need? I am just 5ft.

I just sold my Bates t bars because I do change my length and they were just a faff with one hand.
I have had the ones that do up at the bottom, again a faff if you change lengths.

I don't like synthetic leathers on a leather saddle, I just feel it scratches. So leather on leather, synthetic on synthetic.

Currently using bog standard black leathers.

I brought the thorowgood synthetic leathers last time around, they have been super, they were a bit bulky to start before they conformed but I think that's often the case with leather too. As they have the smooth outer over the webbing (I think its beta) they haven't scratched my saddle or anything. I really like them, after several incident of leathers breaking or starting too or stretching I like the reassurance that these won't :)
