Hi All

Around my estate there is a stray dog, its always out wandering the streets on its own & looks a bit rough (skinny, matty coat etc) the other day I witnessed it nearly getting run over as it ran across the road.

Can I report this to anyone??
I would take it in as its the sweetest little thing but I live with parents & we have 2 hounds here already :o

Hi - report it to the dog warden (or animal welfare officer I think they're now called) at your council.

Hope doggie is ok and thank god it's got kind people like you looking out for it.

Poor thing, any update? I wouldn't call the dog warden, it'd only get 5 days before being put down...could you possible hold on to him for a while and find him a place in a rescue or a good home? you could always make compromise with your parents and let him sleep in the shed or something. good luck, hope the poor guy can get sorted, it's terrible not being in the position to help stray dogs isn't it! :(

They don't only get 5 days before being put down- that's a total myth! Dog warden is definitely your best bet- they get 7 days advertised on a website and in the local paper and after that go to a rescue centre.

Hi All-sorry only just seen the replies for this thread!
I didnt want to go down the dog warden route as I also heard they PTS if owner or suitable home not found.
I phoned Battersea up instead & they have apparently been round to see the dog, I havent seen it out since so fingers crossed they took it for re-homing!
