Have decided I would really like an easy clean chuck in washing machine type bridle for my haflinger. Any recommendations folks and any drawbacks to this type of tack? Preferably something with flourescent or reflective included. Or with a nice cavesson noseband to put flourescent wrap over - many seem to have flash nosebands.

I've got several Libbys bridles and they are fab. They go in the washing machine and come out like new. They are all about 8 years old. I've had a couple of 'getting hooked up' occasions and the buckles gave instead of the bridle.

A third vouch for the Libbys stuff :) wouldn't bother with the economy one if there is a choice, it's not made by them and buckles are difficult to fasten. We have a "custom" bridle as she has a small pony head, pony nose and cob browband!

We got it as she is prone to rubs in summer but so far it's not rubbed and she has lost a lot of her issues being bridled with it. I love clipping the reins too as makes them so easy to transfer and we have the combination bridle so it is easy to lead her (bridles come over her ears when leading normally).

Love love love it :)

oh and the flash comes off on a libbys, leaving about half an inch of loop where you can attach the flash - or cut the loop off. no probs getting hi viz over at all!

I think I'm going to treat myself to a Libby's. I prefer the look of the biothane ones but have been struck down with serious lazy disease:redface: and throwing it in the washing machine sounds easier than wiping it clean!! I might get webbing leathers as well...I've already got the synthetic ones from Thorowgood but by the time you've wiped them you might as well put the saddle soap on. I can't believe I am being this lazy:giggle:

Why don't they make machine washable saddles......

Oh! Decisions, decisions.......Well have decided just to try a Libby's webbing one to start with just to make sure I am comfortable using a non-leather bridle. Then I might try a biothane one No Angel....after all I shall need another whilst it is in washing machine and drying  Any excuse for more tack and horsey gadgets.
