Hello
sorry I havent been on here for a while, my illness has got the better of me recently and Ive been struggling beyond belief hence being quiet.
We have virtually no para's competitions here in south west so only competitions are the couple of rda ones.
Ive done a few 'able-bodied' unaffiliated prelim tests but was wondering, at what stage do you need to apply for TUE's??
The FEi sites seem to sound like you dont need them until you get to national / international level whereas other sites seem to make out you need them for any competition!
Im completely confused (doesnt take much!)
Does anybody know what level / stage you need to apply for tue's (I will need several exemptions!!)
Thnak you in advance :)

good news

Wellbeck near Exeter is holding para qualifiers next spring so that may well be closer for you. No idea what TUEs stands for but if it is using extra equipment and aids in competition you need it to ride in any affiliated competition except if you ride HC. Got to get your grading from para people then send this and information about your disability and equipment needed to british dressage. They have a meeting and then if they agree with your request (and they can go against the para/RDA grading) they send you a dispensation certificate and card. You carry the card all times at the show in case you are challenged and the certificate is photocopoed and you send a copy for every class you enter so each and every judge on the day seesit. I have sent a couple each time and asked the organisers to hold on to the certificate so I don't have to keep sending copies.
Sorry if this is not what you where asking for

Thank you

Thank you so much
Exeter will hopefully be excellent as it will be our closest para's (its about same as hartpury / wales!)
the TUE is the therapeutic use exemption in refernce to medications.
I cannot manage without numerous medications and am not sure at what stage I need the exemptions?
I am rda graded as grade 3 (section 26a)
Currently aiming to compete in unaffiliated prelim and rda comppetitions with hope to move into para-dressage and talent spotting if possible

BD don't currently test riders at grass roots levels but will be doing so at some point so from a practical level it is not a problem at the moment. RDA do not test at all. Para dressage at international level will be tested.

If you wish, PM me the names of your meds and I can sort out which can be taken under TUE and where you may have to think of alternatives. (my 'day' job involves this sort of stuff :D )
