The old NR - what a difference!!

OMG you guys have made me laugh loads at this thread! The bunny picture a very good contibution but think it was CB's statement of:

I have not said nothing about the forum being quiet snice i had my last hissy fit.

that really made me chuckle!!!

I proudly started this thread & I'm quite glad I did - we've nearly overtaken 'Laminitis was abcess 2' in our viewings! (Not that it's a competition of course !!)

And Vicki100 how dare you think it was boring to start with - look at them all going at it now! :giggle: !!!

ETA: just checked the stats - we're ahead of 'laminitis now abcess 2'

Infact ironicaly Im not a pareli avid fan TA - I decided a while ago (talking months) that I didnt like it - I had recorded and watched al the videos on horse and country but decided I didnt really like the way that things were done.

That said, it shouldnt be dismised - it incorporates some good ideas and the basics of good horsemanship. I personally prefer to use a mixture of approches - based on what is right for mine. I really like the 101 horsemanship exercises book I have, that is fab - and just think things should be thought about a little bit mroe sometimes as the "regular" solutions dont always achieve the right results.

For example, Madam is good at pressure and release. However my little one (little man) is awful at it (goldfish attention span), and even clicker training is too much - he cant have more than one stimulus to think about - he gets preoccupied by "treat hunting" and cant associate the treat with a set task - he is either busy being anxious about the task, or looking for flies or treat hunting.

So its really about finding out about your horse and how it works best - I use traditional and "NH" methods - but really I just try and use things that are effective and kind.

Some of the trolls were brilliant though - hours and hours of entertainment! Anyone remember the girl who started telling folk how to show horses - trim your M&M's mane etc:eek:. There was a real ruccus as some kids duly went off and did it. HorseHelen or something similar. She had a thread about plaiting or "plates" that ran and ran - priceless:D

I think there must be some confusion. I am definitely not a troll and I never posted such a thread ... it was definitely someone else .... sorry thought i'd better clear my name

Well done popularfurball. I agree with everything you say.

I personally think that a good forum should have many differences of opinion but that those differences of opinion should be debated fully rather than just stated as fact without any expansion as to why.

It's only by education by debate that we can expand our own knowledge and that is the reason I originally joined NR.

I know that I personally have changed so many aspects of the way I manage and handle my ponies thanks to this forum. I'll use do different things for different ponies at different times in their, and my, development so having a clutch of actions to choose from is beneficial.

Choosing one method over another doesn't mean that the other method wouldn;t work, just that I personally feel that given my situation the one I have chosen is the most likely to work. No reason for anyone to feel rejected or second rate because I have chosen to go in another direction.

Not sure how that was out of order.... Just expressing my opinions ;) hehe.

I find you judge things quickly before understanding them, such as "pirelli" and your remarks about no point in having horses if you dont ride etc, when you dont even have the awareness of the correct spelling let alone what its about. Its frustrating - you cant have a debate when you dont bother to read up about a topic - its all one sided because no one can debate when there is no open mindedness.

Because you can come across as judging a book by its cover, it insinuates that your rmethods are perfect, and as such therefore perfect horses.

I love a good debate, but I want to learn from it - so debating parelli, and tack fitting and shoes vs barefoot etc all interest me - but you (speaking generally) have to have the knowledge behidn it to make it an interesting debate to learn from it.

Ive learnt so much from debates on this forum, long may it continue - even silly things like ideas for what I can cover my grass with!! Or how to set up pony dungarees so they dont fall off!!

The above post is a general post also, not a personalised attack - the biggest way we learn is through other peoples experiences, so we have to be open minded to listening to them - and hey, sometimes we can help too :D

I had to log off last night so I could not continue reading this tripe.
Anyway, i have caught up now!

You seem to have formed a very strong opinion about me which is rather odd as you have never met me (I think that is called judging)

Your comments towards me have nothing to do with the subject of this thread, in fact, you were sick of reading threads like this if i remember?
Why on earth you chose to rake up a thread i started about Parelli I do not know?

And as for not replying to your posts (as you mentioned on one of your previous responses) I reply to posts that INTEREST me!

Back to the point of this thread, NR is improving thanks to threads like this which allow people to debate the subject (not the member)
Excellent thread Roxys Mum x

It must have been HelenHorse. She was a teenager who had assorted show horses - but who knew it all:rolleyes:. One of her first threads was along the lines of "Who wants me to tell them how to show". It was a pantomime:D

You seem to have formed a very strong opinion about me which is rather odd as you have never met me (I think that is called judging) IMHO, judging is making statements - positive or negative - that are around a particular subject where to person who made the comment has little or no knowledge. Where what should have been used was a question. Yes, I have formed an opinion - not on you - but on your "online persona". But that opinion has been formed through reading many threads/posts which involve you. People form valid opinions when they have the build up of knowledge - someone possibley LF - thinks i'm dizzy - shes only got that through reading my posts - and its true!!! When you post numerous replies that are written in such a tone that you know will cause an argument and then disappear in a strop, or delete your posts - I struggle to form any opinion other than you are desperate for an argument to take your own anger out on - but when the debate (two way thing), is bounced back at you in response you can't cope with it. You can't have one way debates, give or take a bit it is bullying.

Your comments towards me have nothing to do with the subject of this thread, in fact, you were sick of reading threads like this if i remember?
Why on earth you chose to rake up a thread i started about Parelli I do not know? I was providing a supported argument, that demonstrated prior background knowledge. You want debates, all Im trying to highlight is that this thread is a mindless debate - Roxys Mum I know it wasnt set out like that - but it has turned into one. There is nothing intelligetn about the whole thing, so I don't see the point - there is nothing to learn. I want deabtes, I love debates - but I want to debate intelligently, with people who are interested and knowledgable on topics that I want to learn about. The examples of the "pirelli" thread etc were to demonstrate the threads which have been posted in a fashion to cause upset - there was no knowledge on the subject of pirelli - you made passing statements about not riding horses and flapping your arms or whatever it was, and have no understanding of the concepts - that is ignorant and judgemental - It would have formed a better debate - a more intelligent one - posting a questions such as "I dont understand the purpose of Parelli, Ive not needed it with my neddys - can someone explain the pros and cons and theories behind parelli?" That woud ahve resulted in intelligent debate - not mindless slanging match to get peoples backs up.

And as for not replying to your posts (as you mentioned on one of your previous responses) I reply to posts that INTEREST me! Well if lots of posts don't interest you then don't complain its quiet

Excellent thread Roxys Mum x I reiterate this is not a debate - it is a mindless argument. It takes no skills to reply to this thread, we are not learning from it in a positive manner. Topic of conversation has been discussed previously, with solutions given.

HorseHelen - didnt even connect the two but how ironic!!!! :giggle::giggle:

PFB

If you want to discuss me, pm me rather than use a thread, this method of stating your point or raising your frustrations just showing off isn't it?

New members joining this forum will now have an opinion about me before they even got to know me just by reading your comments.

I find your attitude towards me very hostile, and that is fine, we do not all have to like each other, but you could pm me if you want to throw you personal opinions around.

no one else is joining in with this silly game, although i am sure it has a wonderful entertainment factor!

I have to say, it is refreshing to see the 'other' more 'spirited' side to your personality, but it would be better if you were generally chatting, the problem i have is that you are choosing to focus just upon me??

if you wish to continue in this manner then go ahead! but it is becoming quite childish in my opinion.

I have almost forgotten what the actual thread is about?

Now now everyone, deep breaths please! :hot:

Let's not start the day with an argument - even if it is a continuation of yesterdays.

Plus I shall be pi$$y if somebody ends up closing my thread because of you two!

Now go to your rooms and think about what you've said, and don't come back until you have calmed down! :smug:

:bounce: Well Im off down the field so shall take time out to reflect on anything I might have added to this thread that might be considered inflamatory!:giggle:

Nah...why would they close it - tis a good bit of banter and, personally, had me in stitches last night.......Im sure we arent ANY of us fluffy enough(or childish enough) to be seriously bothered by anything posted on this thread.

Tis all good stuff and think we can all be proud of ourselves that we can have a bit of 'debate' without anyone become really rude or offensive huh?:smoke:

Hi Roxy

If you look I am trying to reslove this?
Not bad going for someone who apparently 'enjoys' arguments?

^^ Oh I know, I'm just trying to be switzerland/mother before it ends in tears (which I highly doubt!)

But I have to commend you on some brilliant entertainment last night, CB you really did make me laugh so much when you typed your "I haven't since my last hissy fit" comment. Plus the picture of that rabbit - oh, priceless comedy! :giggle:

I have not took the bait and I have not thrown a wobbly :bounce:

Dind Ding.....Round 5:stomp:

PFB is offline...........Shhhh, be quiet!

I bet she has gone to mend her eclectric fencing and sew the buckles on her ponies rugs!:running:

I just remember how upset you were at the time, and obviously leaves a hole for a long while so didnt want to upset you... but everytime I see a post by fairlady I walways wonder about you :o (make me sound like a weird stalker no yah?? :o)

I actually NEED Hector - have to confess to not being a fanatic of that sort of breed - cute but would much prefer a mongrel/collie/lab/retriever type. Howeever, I actually NEED him - he is just right for my pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah - you are both weird and a stalker :ninja:

and NO you can't have him - GET OFF - he's mine.

Yep, cookster... you have a very cute puppy... loveable:inlove:

It's a shame I don't have time for cats/dogs.. I wouldn't feel fair, if I was out at the yard, or working, leaving the little bab to entertain itself..

My guineas are my home entertainment and my horses are my 'away'.. happy existence in-between:smoke::happy:

Thank you DS.x He is 6 months now and going through a digging up plants and trailing them through the house stage.:frown: Little Blighter! I love guinea pigs - they're lush. I would have a couple if hubby allowed but he's drawn the line at horse, 2 dogs and fish!

They are funny claws HH ;):p

cb, this only became involving you because you were the one avidly posting trying to create a stir. I posted in a way to explain why it is frustrating and therefore help you to see my point of view. Instead of taking it on board and discussing it, you sulked last night and have come back childishly. You are the one viewing this as some kind of competition, not me. I have actually posted back numerous times to diffedrent people on this thread on different topics but that seems to have bypassed you?

P.s. For someone who doesn't find my posts interesting, you sure know a lot about current situations in my life ;-) and ironically yes i was tying posts to existing fence to fever buggers from pulling it out lol

If i wasn't too tired to read this then i would have to see what on earth is going on!

Will try tomorrow when in a better frame of mind. lol
