Just got back from a fabulous 3 day trail riding camp with Guy Robertson at this place https://www.facebook.com/share/188auuyGnR/

The camp was fab, we all had different issues (mine was that AJ doesn't like riding with other horses) but with the techniques we practiced before setting off on the rides we all made progress.

And the location is absolutely stunning. You ride out from the farm straight onto the trails and can go for miles and miles, following paths, sheep trails through the heather, crossing water etc (not our strong point lol). But the hills - everything is on a hill and hills are as far as the eye can see. Amazing views and if anyone is looking for a holiday to get their horse hill fit, this is the place. I lost a few kilos myself!

I stayed in my horsebox but there are lots of accommodation options and Medina the host can't do enough for you, she's lovely.

Even the night sky was awesome!1000034155.jpg1000034199.jpg1000034115.jpg1000034168.jpg

This looks brilliant. Wonderful photos.
He's really grown up super hasn't he.

What is it with others that he doesn't like. Mine likes to follow and doesn't like them following her

If she is a bit nappy in that respect.

He just doesn't like other horses around him. He hates being held up (he has the fastest walk I've ever experienced) and starts jogging, humping and threatening to kick. If I get far enough in front he's fine - he's not in the least bit interested in staying with the 'herd'. He's not threatening to run off or anything like that, he's quite happy walking, as long as it's at his pace and in his own space.

When I took him on the very busy PR where you rode at your own pace there were horses in front, behind, we passed some, some passed us etc and he was good as gold. It's just the group rides that he struggles with. He's a funny creature.

@Bodshi that sounds like Luka, though nowadays he will drop back to be the front of his own ride. He doesn't give two hoots about horses trotting past or leaving him either, he just hates being crowded or not in front. I probably don't help matters because I mostly hack on my own, partly because it's easier than constantly pulling up (or even worse over time he starts automatically stopping even when he's on his own so I lose that lovely ground eating walk) but partly because riding manners seem to be a rare thing nowadays so I'm more relaxed when it's just us.

The scenery looks amazing!
