Hi all.

Just wondering if anybody on here or knows of anybody who has any information/opinions about this riding school? The reason i'm asking is that due to some confidence issues i have been having i am now looking into taking some much long overdue lessons, self taught rider here:o

I am wanting to give myself a huge kick up the bum and take control of my wobbles before they totally destroy any confidence i have left.:D
I know of and have been around plenty of riding schools in and around my area but i wanted to try and find out a wee bit more about this one and a change of scenery would be more relaxing for some lessons. Plus my pals think i'm fine but it's the inside of me that ain't feeling so fine so i kind of want to step away from the places and people i am familiar with and get an unbiased opinion and to go forward. I really want to do this for myself!

If you don't actually want to post up a reply then a PM would be great, not a problem, i just wanted some feedback if there was any before i go ahead and ring them.
Thanks folks:)

I've never actually been there, but from people I know on Bebo, they all seem to love it. It's a place I've never heard a bad report about. Really should have stopped in today as I was in Glenavy and asked about their rug washing.

Sometimes riding stables are personal choice.

Book in for 2/3 lessons, and if you like it, well book some more!

That's good to hear Maverick!

I have never heard a bad word about it either, never heard too much about it to be honest but that is probably a good thing. Your right about personal choice though as some folks love certain places that i would not use, horses for courses i suppose:) I just fancy somewhere smaller than those close to me i guess.

Reckon i'll just get on and ring them and book away! Thanks a lot.

Very well organised and well kept stables & horses - tuition - well, it always depends on how you get on with your instructor but I've not heard any bad reports. Where abouts are you?
Just incase you're interested, we're having a holistic horsemanship intro clinic here in Richhill on Sun 24th Feb, just £5 for spectators, Laura Domenica of www.connectedhorsemanship.com is running it, something different!
Lesley
PM me if you would like more details.

Many thanks for the replies folks:)

It sounds like it is a place that would suit me down to the ground, i left them a message and i am ringing them back tomorrow so hopefully i can start sometime this week so fingers crossed!

Intouch, i am just on the outskirts of Antrim. Not too far from the J1 shopping outlet. It used to be a nice quiet area but not any more! I actually think i have met you, i have been wracking my brain and all i can think of is we, albeit briefly met at Necarne Stallion Parade last year. I was doing a stand with a pal and i bumped into you there :)

Thanks again ladies.

No, don't think I was at Necarne last year - don't get out much these days!
Lesley

Oh my heads away with it, might not have been Necarne. Back to wracking my brains!
All the best for the 24th Feb by the way, it should be a great day and one i actually wouldn't have minded going to but sadly i'm away to England that weekend.
I'll keep an eye out for any future dates:)

Just to say thanks to all that replied, yes it is a real nice place:)

I went ahead and booked a lesson and i had it on the monday just past!
It was my very first 'official' lesson and i really enjoyed it. I was put on a real steady neddie, bless him but he was a pet. Boy do i have a long way to go and a bit of a mountain to climb though? After years of just doodling and riding along on my own i'm in for an awakening i reckon:eek::D
The lady who was instructing me though was just lovely. She said i had such a relaxed expression on my face but the body was telling a totally different story :p That is down to having an argument a while back with a mare about the importance of stopping (well and truly bolted with!) my nerves and confidence are not quite the same but i reckon with the help of the RI at TNB there might be a wee light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm booked in again for my next one and i am really looking forwards to it, onwards and upwards!
Thanks again for the info on this place, much appreciated.

I'vw ridden a few times at Tullynewbank and my daughter rides there every week. Its a great place they're so friendly. Who was your lesson with? Judith? She is excellent even loans you her nice coffee when you fall off...not that I am suggesting you will fall off, it's just after a break of about 10 years I had a few issues with my balance! :o I also ride in a group lesson at laurelview in Templepatrick, they're really nice there too!

Hi there J-J:)

Yea it was with Judith, hope her coffee is good then as i reckon in the weeks to come i might be having a few cuppas with her. In fact it might be caffeine overload:D Actually i think i'll wear my sticky bums on monday!
I was up at Laurel View not so long since as my pal was jumping up there (i'm her runaround helper come dogsbody:p) and yea it's a nice place too. Whereabouts in Northern Ireland are you if you don't mind me asking as it sounds like your a Co. Antrim lass the same as myself, although i'm actually from England originally?

Yeah I live up near the airport, near Aldergrove, though I too am from England originally as well :D

Flippin heck! You aren't too far away from me then, 10 mins down the road:) I'm the other side of Antrim, close to a certain shopping outlet.
I'm from Yorkshire, what part are you from? Actually .... Erm any chance you like getting your hands dirty and like grooming mud splattered gee gees????:D:D Just joking of course (or am i?:D)but seriously if you ever fancy meeting up with our 4 characters i'd be more than happy for you to pop down seeing as you are so close and say hello as it's always nice having horse nut people around, be warned though you may end up getting a brush put in your hand! Carrots in your pocket are the entrance fee:D

P.S Sorry about the smiley overload in this post:o
