Just a little update - Carthorse recommended Manuka honey for cut on Tobes mouth that was septicy. Well, two full days on, with Manuka honey - is looking much improved!!!!! Still a lump, but less of a lump and is now looking to be scabbing over.

Who would have thought it??

I'm glad it's working . I really didn't expect it to do anything but make a great big sticky mess when it was suggested to me - vet even gave me the tube for free because I was so cynical! - yet within a couple of days a wound that refused to heal with other creams was healing over beautifully. Magic stuff, I always keep a tube in my first aid kit nowadays.

I found out an interesting fact about the antibacterial nature of Honey.

Frances cured her neighbours ulcers with the sterile medicinal stuff. HE was in a terrible state, I thought he was about to lose his leg.

Frances went round twice a day, changed his dressings and massaged his leg (she is an nurse BTW) re dressed it with honey and did what the NHS could not do. Cured his leg, got it healed up and all the swelling down.

The antibacterial properties of honey is a naturally bee produced peroxide!

Tobes was on an economy drive and only had the 5 one which was £7.80. There was one in health food shop for £19.99

He knocked the scab off this morning whilst he was changing out of pyjamas and playing grabbing noses with his next door neighbour, but it looks a properly pink cut now. So put more on and he licks my hands afterwards so clearly has a taste for it now!
