Well the specialist has looked at his X Rays and says its 50/50.................

IF they operate and see anything they are not happy about when they open him up they will PTS there and then.

Operation costs £3,500 and waiting to see if Insurance will pay out before making any decisions, Owner actually wants to talk with Specialist herself as well, which she has been unable to do as yet, before making the final decision as to whether or not to go through with it all............

So Sad the whole damn thing and so avoidable !

Here he is a couple of days ago, looking a damn picture of health........

So hard .............I just feel so sorry and 'helpless' for both tbh xx

Oh no ...... Not good news then.

50/50 is better than nothing, but your poor friend, what a horrible position to be put in.

I hope the insurance cover her, and that your friend hears what she needs to from the expert. So many if`s, buts and wishes .... but sending positivity their way x
 
Thanks..............he is such a big Boy as you can see by photo, almost up at 17hh.

He has been put on 1.5 Dannilon a day which seems to be keeping him
relatively comfortable at the moment.

I so feel for his Owner, such a difficult and heart wrenching place to be xxxx

There really isn't much room for error in a horse that size and weight :frown: I really hope the vet can pull it off and save him, but it's going to be a very close call if they do..
 
New update.......the Insurance Company have agreed to pay up, I am amazed tbh as she was only insured with them a few weeks before the initial queries came up.

The Specialist has said although looking at X Rays he gives a 50/50 chance he will NOT operate until he has seen the Horse in the flesh himself.

Soooo watch this space x
 
That's great news the company will pay :)

Really surprised you have said he is almost 17h! Looking at the pic the other day I guessed he was only about 14.3! Haha how wrong I was! How old is he?
