...just got in from the paddock and gardening - jeans thick with dirt - washing machine ready to run - "I'll shove them in with that load," thinks I.

Fifteen minutes later: "That's odd. Where's my phOOOOONE!!!!!"

I drained the machine and called O2 as I retrieved the wet slab. It looked stone dead. The girl said, "Oh dear, sounds like an insurance claim. I hope you backed up your SIM."

I thought I might as well try to back it up, so I turned it on and...

...it was fine! And still is 3 days later!

Nobody can believe it, especially the techno geeks at O2. Apparently it is the phone of a lifetime.

I got lucky!

I had a phone that firstly fell in the gravy pot it worked but did smell quite a bit then a few weeks later if ended up in the washing machine.......i couldnt believe it carried on working.......it finally met it maker when i shut it in the boot of the car:giggle:

Flushed my iphone down the toilet a couple of weeks ago :poop::poop: was devistated, as I can't live without my phone

It was dead, or flashed on/off in a peculiar way :nerd: SO, I negotatied a replacement phone and new contract :help: and put the iphone up for sale as water damaged (on ebay). It then came fully back to life for two days until sold. Despite being damaged I still got £140 for it, which covered my new contract :inlove:

I'm now being extremely careful a:)

You are very lucky...I always thought it was only nokia's that were indestructable...I dropped my phone in the paddock once and Podge picked it up in his mouth, bit into and stood on the pieces.... I put it all back to together and it still worked!

My brother in law tried to use his iphone for toilet training. Ended up down the toilet. He thought it had recovered after sitting in a bowl of rice but unfortunately it died a few days later. Enjoyed telling his boss what had happened to his work phone.

Is it still working Jane? Mine has almost died a death at the hoof of Flip a couple of times. Latest was during the winter just gone. Got home, searched around, called it, couldn't find it anywhere, sped back down to the field to find it lying an inch away from flipo's hoof in amongst the hay. Phew!

that's mega lucky!! I too was another one that thought only Nokia's were indestructible - I lost count of the amount of times I dropped my old one in water buckets etc

I had a old Sharp GX10 flip, about 5yrs ago, I dropped it in the fish tank. Dried it out naturally, gave it to my dad and he still uses it to this day, he preferers it to a more modern one.

Also loved the printer cat, very very funny
