Has anyone used the above supplements with good results please. I am trying Equiflex from Vetvits and the mo but was wondering what others had used with success.

have had good results with cortaflex, but have heard riaflex beign raved about, so am trying that at the moment. only been on it a week (and has an abscess) so no results yet, but i've heard very good things.

Honestly, I came on to ask about these supplements!

Our Sec A has been on corteflex now for about a month and I can honestly say its worked a miracle on him - I am just in awe of what it has done.

But its not cheap!

Was wondering on how the other joint supplements compared!

My TB has been on Equiflex for just over a month now and he is much better. I'm hoping he will keep on improving.

Does anyone use oil to compliment the joint supplements they are using?

Regards

Cant say for horses but my terrier has been on Synoquin since 6 months old as she has horrendous hip dysplasia (basically no socket!), and the synoquin plus hydrotherapy has enabled us to avoid the vet recommendation of sawing off both her hip joints  and she has been sound as a pound touch wood since starting this.
:D

my friend **Grey Gelding** has started to use gold label Gluclosamene 500 (that is spelt terribley and i'm not sure of the number its followed by!) anyways she's found it works really well!

As part of my Equine Sports Massage Diploma I had to investigate all the big joint supplements on the market and compare them - price, effectiveness, dosage etc. On my work Cortaflex came out the best value for money combined with good results. All the joint supplements helped, but it was a case of how much money you wanted/could spend. My girl has only had minor issues with her joints, so I find that Superflex caters for her perfectly well, and is very affordable.

my horse has been on synequin since she fractured her fetlock and had all the surrounding tissues damaged whilst in the field when she was 15. she was operated on and didnt know if she would come sound.

she is now 25 and today she tried to bug*er off with me on our local common. no brakes and full of her self - i swear by it.

expensive but lasts for ages

Equivits is great, and a good deal cheaper that the others! Showed my vet the contents and she was happy with it.

I did retire my horse 2 years ago because he was stiff and when I asked my vet to check him out a few months ago she said he seemed fine. Mind you his new field is uphill which I think has helped, and he's still a little stiff in the hind legs when I clean his feet out but so much better. I'm aiming to start riding him again next year - gulp! lol

Had Fi on Synequin after she'd had Adequan injections. Swapped onto Cortaflex HA when I ran out of insurance money... and just recently swapped on to Flexivite.

Can't say I have noticed a big difference when we've swapped from one to the other ? She hasn't really been on the Flexivite long enough yet (a matter of days).

I do think she is better on something - it just doesn't seem to make a big difference what the something is ?

hi, i have paddy on cortaflex been on it as long as i have had him he has djd in both front feet and a bone spavin in his hock he was written off by oakham hospital but has been sound for over 41/2 years he also gets cartrophen jabs every 20wks and is on cider vinegar as this is good for arthritus.

I used cosequin then went onto flexivite. Personally, I found the best improvement with flexivite (and at a fraction of the price)

eta, just realised I mean Equiflex not flexivite!!!

i am using equiflex on my horse and my friends. they both need it for there hind legs and they are looking great and have only been on it for a couple of weeks.

my friends horse was on cortaflex ha liquid she is better on equiflex, i have found cortaflex causes horses to have behavioural problems. one of ours would not leave other mares alone and kept mounting them and then another horse has started biting people and launching over the at people so i dont like it that much
