Do weatherbeeta rugs come up normal, big or small?
What types of horses do they fit best? Narrow, medium or wide?
And would you recommend getting a size up or down for a narrow pony?

Thanks

they used to say buy a size up for WB's but so far i've found the new ones to come up bang on size. The freestyle system killed the WB market for broad horses, my welsh cob has 2 WB's with freestyle and they don't come close to fastening across his HUGE chest.

I think it depends on what style you get.

I have 3 Oricans and they fit the horses bang on with there usual size, bought a Landa for Kiki and its fairly big around the chest, I have a Taka freestyle and its massive, too big around the chest for hw cob Murf who usually takes a 6ft6, the Taka is 6ft!

I am looking at the Weatherbeeta Stable Pony Rug Windsor, any experience of these?

I found the same

Most rugs are too big around my arab's chest but my weatherbeeta fits perfectly! So I would say they come up a little small around the chest compared to other brands.
xx

I've got a tb x wb and the weatherbeetas are a good fit for her. She's very long and quite long legged so they fit perfectly. Although i can understand where everyone is coming from with the broader horses as if she was slightly broader they would be coming up tight across the chest area.

i've got a landa freestyle for my big shouldered cob and its about the only rug i've had that DOESN'T rub her shoulders.....not sure if they come up big or not.....i had a masta in her usual size and that was too small...if that helps lol:p

Well basically I posted this because shes a 5ft6 in most rugs except mastas drown her! And amigo she is a 5ft9 as they are small
However I have found this lush weatherbeeta stable rug in 5ft3 and its lovely, I dont know whether it will be too small on her.
Will three inches really make a difference?
Usually with 5ft6 they are a little big on her bum and have to done up the tightest on the buckles, what do you think?

the WB freestyles usually come up a size large. The Masta's are very big round the neck so are not so good for narrower horses. The Saxons (made by WB) come up on the small side but are great for narrow horses or youngstock

yep i defo agree, my saxon was fine length wise for my cob, but it was like a mini skirt on her in depth!! lol!!!:D:p

Ok I think I am going to buy the 5ft3 then, I really like it! Hopefully it will fit her as she is narrow but is usually a 5ft6

Love Weatherbeetas fit my TB perfectly round the chest though sometimes come up a little deep or long, I don't mind as a little extra over the tail does no harm.
He is a chunky TB, alot of width round the shoulders, chest and depth of girth. He's deceptive really as lots of horses that look bigger take a smaller size.
He's a sensitive soul and they have never rubbed and they are good quality.
I have a taka and an outlanda and a fly rug. I have just bought stable ones for this winter from equestrian clearance.

haha, their neck covers are defo the best one's ive tried! don't rub a big bald patch on their neck, and very cosy and don't come off!:p:D

The Freestyle are quite small around the neck, although if your horse doesn't have the thickest neck then they can be nice and roomy in the chest.

I don't buy anything else for Daffy, other than his stable rugs which are both Fusion Contours. Buy an Original - such as the old Taka's, or the Landa/Orican Originals they do, and I'd need a 6'9+ in order to do it up on Daffy. A 6'3 freestyle however fits him beautifully, and the 6'5 Taka Contour does too, although it's quite deep, the Contour I think makes them slightly smaller. I don't however, buy anything with a neck attached other than the fly rugs, as he usually takes a small neck cover.
