First things first, Jess is still sound this morning :D I took the day off so I didn't have to be up silly early but I couldn't sleep as I was worrying history would repeat but she's looking great :D

We set off at 10.15 Saturday morning, did a mile up to meet our friends and off we set :)

Clear fell at the edge of the forest FB_IMG_1534093372951.jpg FB_IMG_1534093376828.jpg FB_IMG_1534093384193.jpg

That one duel carriage way I said I'd never ride along, we ended up on the path right next to it to get our lunch and the horses water, we hadn't realised they'd moved the parking area away from the monument, all 3 horses were impeccably behaved even with artics and what looked like a club of about 30 motorbikes whizzing by doing the speed limit. As we got further from home we started to get to more arable areas, onions here :) FB_IMG_1534093396285.jpg
And lots of woolers on the heaths FB_IMG_1534093399388.jpg

Saturdays ride was slow going, the Clydie with us was a bit off and just didn't want to go, we had a trot and canter to try and enthuse him but it didn't work, he got slower and slower, his owner would have taken him home at the half way point but the problem with off road riding is there's very little option to get a vehicle in to get a horse out, so unless we loaded him on the side of the A11 the safest option was to push on to camp, we got there about 3.40pm..... A very long walk but the weather was perfect and the company good so it wasn't terrible :)

A few hours after we got to camp I noticed jess had lumps appear on her back, about 8 pea size lumps on the left and half a dozen more and 1 larger 50p size one on the right, none were sore.

Thankfully the smaller ones all disappeared overnight and the larger one was much reduced and still not sore so I decided to ride still on Sunday. I think possibly it was a heat reaction.

On Sunday another friend joined us with her cob, so still 3 of us without the Clydie.
We had a brilliant mile long canter up a slight hill, the forestry had been doing some work and had dragged the track so it was like gallops :D we were able to crack on a bit more Sunday which jess was much happier about :)

This dim deer hauled ass right across this field towards us, to hide in a Bush right next to the track we were on  then took off again as we got there. FB_IMG_1534092967484.jpg FB_IMG_1534092982107.jpg FB_IMG_1534093002503.jpg
This is the tunnel under the A11, put in especially to connect the bridleways when they did a major expansion of the road a few years ago FB_IMG_1534093009951.jpg

Jess was getting fed up of having to keep waiting for the cob, he walked and trotted too slow for her liking, she was much happier when I put her on that stubble for a canter, so much so we had a discussion re stopping at the end, jess didn't feel it was strictly necessary!

Finally home, a quiet happy to be I think, she drank well pee'd a lot and tucked into her feed and haylage well :) FB_IMG_1534093034237.jpg
Eta, no lumps from the saddle last night or this morning even the bigger one had completely gone by the time we got back. It took us about 4 hours to get home and I let air to her back half way.

She likes to get on with the job :)
He's OK, yeah he just wanted to plod, apparently he's been having some tooth troubles so thinking he might just be lack luster from that, his owner is going to call the vet today for a check over as it's quite unlike him.

Looks amazing, I'm very jealous (especially with a lame horse atm  ) Love the yawning pic at the end too. Hope the clydie is ok, maybe he was just tired? I don't think it's all that easy to get a heavy fit is it? Something to do with the body mass and oxygen or something complicated like that.

ETA - no, I think I'm thinking of muscles getting overheated. Hope he's ok anyway.

He could just have been tired, we had 24 hours of pretty heavy rain Thursday- early Friday, then all afternoon Friday, so it could have kept him up, but he was sluggish from the get go. He normally does a few hours with us without issue :)

Were the horses okay going through the tunnel then? Not sure what Zi would make of that. Can't imagine Storm being persuaded in.......
Well they normally are, and Jess has done dozen upon dozens of tunnels (including this one before) but on the way out there was a shadow on the floor and she danced about like she was petrified o_O I am almost 100% it was the shadow she didn't like as just up the top she spooked at her own shadow o_O I suspect someone was getting bored! She couldn't give two hoots on the way home.
