Moving day!
Well. Trust me to 'decide', I use that lightly! To move on the wettest day of the year, here, so far! This happened yesterday, first it took 30 mins to load him! Then sox decided he wouldn't go in the box as there is a overhang and its only just above his ears.. I spent all day moving my stuff and finally left the yard around 5 like a drown rat!!
Day 1
Came down early this morning, opening the kick bolt and going in before shutting the door. Sorting sox out only to find I had locked myself in his stable at 6:15 this morning by the kick bolt! So had to climb over the door! Sox was one of only two horses out in the fields today for the moment he is in quarantine, so 2 fields away from the nearest horse. Apparently sox and the other horse was quite upset, galloping up and down but they settled after a while. I brought sox in at 4 , as I go up there his fence walking... But behaved very very well. I thought he might go up so took my pressure headcollar and long rope but I didn't need it.
Sox again needed convincing with polos to go in his stable. Then carried on cribbing, eating and drinking a lot, half a bucket full... I was messing around , well getting things done and after around 20 mins I heard pawing then sox biting the chest straps on his rug and pawing more.. I go and take his rug off to find dried sweat on him then he goes quiet. Pawing some more and lifting a hing leg right up before looking like he is going to roll. I am almost going into meltdown thinking mild colic. He happened to stand still with his bum facing the door and he looked huge even though you could hear gut sounds. I went to find someone for a second opinion with no luck. So back to the stable and so was looking alert looking for tea and eating no issues. I still held off until he did a poo before giving him his tea.. Going back to his normal self..
