On an island
:) On Christmas wind down? Are you all working right up to Christmas Eve? OH's work has petered out a bit and I'm quiet too. Just wondered who had finished for the festivities? I think OH will doubtless have a few work things to tweak, as have I, but on the whole things feel pretty settled now. All I would really love is for the sun to make an appearance again and the wind to die down......

Schools finished on Friday so I'm on hols now. Had a riding lesson on both boys and now chilling out on sofa with the dog! Planning Christmas yummies and waiting on a bed being delivered. OH finishes tomorrow.

Usual here - being retired it is all much as usual, apart from having to get more food in for the Christmas/New Year. Staying home with our sons here. We just have too many animals to logistically go anywhere else TBH - but it is a good excuse just to snuggle up in front of the wood burner and shut the world out for a few peaceful days.:)

I finish work half 4 on Xmas eve but that's early for me tbh, and I've worked Xmas day before so just grateful to have that off

I'm not off until after Christmas now. I'm doing the feeds and stuff on Christmas Day so my boss can have the day off, we don't muck out on Christmas Day though and the horses will just have a pyjama day.

I am working the day job until Christmas Eve (although it is so quiet as there are very few of us in, I'll just take a book in to read or something to keep me occupied!). I am working karaoke Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Saturday. Off Sunday! Day job Monday, Tuesday. Karaoke on New Years Eve definitely as I'm booked to do a Hogmanay Party (my name has been up on the posters for weeks now!). I am off the day job Thursday and Friday too but I won't know my karaoke shifts for that week until next Monday, I imagine I'll have a few! Then back to work as normal on Monday the 5th

I think I'm going to need a holiday to recover from the "holidays"!

I wouldn't say I am used to them, but I'm learning to cope with them. Quite nights are by far the worst. As are paperwork heavy nights - I end up unable to focus my eyes!!

I've done my Monday half-day today and as Christmas Eve is my most favourite day of the year (far better than Xmas day itself) I have swapped my "Ironing Wednesday" for tomorrow so that I am work-free on the 24th. I'll get Friday off as it is Boxing Day so I'll be done by noon tomorrow until next Monday. And Dom is finishing at lunchtime on Weds and taking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off next week so he won't be back until Friday week.... then it is his birthday on the Saturday.

I love Christmas Eve too. There is still something quite magical about it - even when you're a grown up and know perfectly well you won't be getting a pony / new push bike / typewriter for Christmas! Hahaaaa, they used to be on my list but never happened.
