I don't know, I pull the saddle apart thinking that if I predict the blue med/wide to be 22cms then it won't be.
Guess what it came up with? You guessed it...22cms
My saddle is due to finish in a few days and I have given potential buyers the option of what gullet they want fitted. The rest of them will be going up for sale after that if you are in the market for one of the gullets I have spare then give me a shout
Are you talking about using the wintec width to judge a different brands widths? Because wintec widths are totally screwy and a wintec wide (red) is roughly equivelent of most proper saddles medium. And using gullet widths to judge any saddles width is completely and utterly pointless - the studs are in different places, each make has slightly different lengths of points and a 'medium' in one brand could be a 'medium-wide' in another
Are you sure or was that what your 'saddle fitter' told you Wintecs are often fitted too narrow to get the balance right. Generally a 'medium wide' in wintec is a 'medium' in a TG.
I was planning on using a pipe cleaner and measure his withers to get a rough idea what size to buy, the saddle will be primarily used to lunge in to let hoss get use to saddle, girth, stirrups, ect. Current medium gullet is far to small and looks stupid hovering over his back
If you are going to buy a Wintec saddle then spend the extra £15 and get a Wintec gullet guide measure, available on ebay or from Robinsons or Ride Away.... I have had Wintecs for the past 8 years and you really will only get the correct gullet with the help of the gullet guide. They are great saddles if they fit your horse but they wont fit every horse.

Never had any problems at the front, the back lady never found in problems in that area either. It was the back half that was the problem.
My new saddle fitter confirmed this too. I have a great deal of faith in her too. She comes from a behaviourist background and keeps her horses barefoot and trim them herself. I like her attitude on keeping horses.
