Hey,

I learn to ride there, but it shut when I was about 14. I was wondering if anyone on here had any of the horses from there? Would love to know what happened to them, particularly one black mare (Echo).

thanks

Hi I did my work placement there 12 ish years ago when I was training at rodbaston. I don't know what happened to any of the horses from then really but it is open again now, has been for a few years and I am back there doing my NVQ level 2 horse care!

Oh gosh :D

I learnt to ride at wood farm loved it. The last time i went must have been 15 years ago. Think i remember Dandy a spotty horse. Loved hacking around baggeridge country park. Remember all the mud at the side of the indoor school we had to walk through to go hacking.

Echo was bought by one of the liveries but was sadly put down about 4 years ago after a very happy semi-retirement. Another livery bought Minstrel and still has her.

The mud on the way to and all around Baggeridge isn't half so bad now there's not hacks going out every day, in fact it's quite dry!

pencilbeckett, i rode at wood farm in the Dandy era ... i wonder if you remember my first pony whom we bought from there ... Freddie?

silverrose, wood farm is now a livery yard and a riding club :) i also remember echo too! :)

Hi Lizzie, Monty was my horse, how nice that you remembered him. i remember all of the horse mentioned in this thread as i have been down wood farm for 32 years! first at the riding school and then a livery for 30 years.

I bought Richard from wood farm back in 1998. He was my beautiful boy and was put to sleep March 2014 at the ripe old age of 30. Hope ppl remember my sweet boy xx

The lady I sold Albi to is a freelance occasional instructor there. In fact she is booked for lessons for the whole day on Sunday.

I remember Dick he was hilarious a proper character! Do you remember Woody? He was great and Rocky and Merry the ex racehorse?
Does any remember Lin the instructor? I was in her Tuesday night class at 6.30 throughout the 90s
