Working Hunter

I have a 5yr old Connemara pony around 14.3hh / 15hh (registered)

Id like to do some working hunter and ridden showing with him next year but have no idea where to start.

Could anyone advise me on where to start, what me and him need to wear.

The individual show etc.

Any information appreciated x

Hi we do working hunter on our grey fell pony....

Its a course of jumps ridden forward.... then walk, trot canter and a gallop down the long side ....
Similar for normal showing the individual show bit.

You would wear a tweed, shirt and tie...beige jod long boots and carrry a brown riding crop with brown gloves.

do you do the walk trot canter as a like show like the individual show
like walk away trot and canter cross diaginal in trot then canter gallop back to a canter and trot in to walk stop kind of thing?

Yes thats exactly what you do....
I dont actually show the pony... our rider shows him for us.
We just own him lol

I think the rules vary from place to place or show to show. Sometimes the jumping is first and you're eliminated if you don't go clear; sometimes it's different. It's worth checking with the schedule or the organisers of the show you are planning to enter.
