I know there is blackhorses and there is also another member who breeds friesians but I have forgotten who:o:o

Please Please friesian breeders come out of the woodwork I need some help:D

Thanks for your replies:)

Ooooh SS how is your mare in foal too? Exciting stuff:)

I will keep bumping this until some others reply, I hope lol. Mind you I will probably be in bed soon - joys of living in the Southern Hempishere:p

Reason why I am asking is I am looking at importing a couple of mares and I need some help deciding that has an impartial view:D

We hope she is in foal, we had her scanned, vet said she is definately in foal but can't find a heartbeat but mum was speaking to a breeder and she said that is was quite common with her mares. She seems to be getting bigger already though and is changing shape  not her usual fatty belly but its only been 3 months so doubt she would be starting to show :p and she certainly isn't acting herself, she has isolated herself from the herd and isnt her lovey self, she just doesn't want to know anyone :o

So fingers crossed!! :p

Yes... she is usually like a big puppy but she jsut seems very dull and distant with everyone like she is in her own little world, and she has gone off her feed as well :eek: but she is eating her hay like she is eating for 10!!!

The stallions owner says he hasn't had a mare back yet in 2 years of him serving and that lots of people had phoned him saying they had their mare scanned and she wasn't in foal but popped one out a few month down the line :p

Trying to be positive but dont want to set myself up for disappoint :p

Blitzen does too doesn't she, or crosses at least?

I don't know, I'm being 'helpful' and bumping up ;)

yep, Ive bred/imported, and studied the bloodlines in great depth......anything you need a hand with....or something interesting to look into?
(and I know the dodgy dutch sellers!!)
(I don't cross breed though lol!!!.....although I think some of the crosses are displaying great attributes when done selectively....just look at Blackhorses lot!!:D)

Blitzen, i am saving for a friesian horse, i have been looking at dealers here & in holland - can you recommend good/trusted dutch ones & tell me of the 'dodgy' ones you know of? i'm a complete beginner in te world of friesians, & although im trying to cram in as much info as poss, its still worrying - it will also be my first horse so i am not experienced in horse buying at all. thank you!

Tazanne,
You've just posted the exact post I was going to post! I'm currently trying to gather as much information about Dutch importers too. I would be very interested in the same answer if you wouldn't mind Blitzen? Hope I'm not being too cheeky!
Best wishes,
Becka

There are quite a few that I have had dealings with so far and they see nice and honest.

Mods I hope it is OK to put up these links:o

Pieter Wijbenga - I bought Frits from him. Nice gentlman and he was honest about all Frits points good and bad:)

HI

I am new to NR Forum. I bought a Friesian colt from Someone in Scotland, he is a lovely wee yearling but i am having major problems. Once he arrived i called fhagbi and talked to Jane who proceeded to tell me the man H.D. Kiestra who bred Vinnie Issues false passports and on their pedigree says their parents are FPS or fhagbi registered when there possibly not. Just now I am waiting to see if i can register him and sorting out his passport.

He is a super boy and very loving but im glad your doing your homework before buying one.

I thought i should let other people know so they dont make the same mistake i do!

If i could work out how to put asome pics of him on here i would!!

Hi Welcome to NR:D

It is all ways good to meet another friesian owner:)

I take it vinnie does not have a registration certificate from the FPS? Good luck - I hope you are able to sort it out:)

We love seeing pics, they are easy to post. Do you have a photobucket acc? If so just copy and paste the img option that is underneath each pic, I think from memory it is the last one in the list of three:)

Ive heard of this person in Scotland

really hope you can register him ....what is his breeding meant to be? Its likely he will have to be DNA tested.

Hi

Some of his stallions and mares are registered but the fhagbi dont seem to be on his side. Most of his pedigree stallions and dames are FPS reg, some are BFHS reg Think im gonna have to go and get DNA samples going further and further back not sure its worth it?? Im not sure what i'll do but Vinnie is loved and getting on well so thats the main thing. :D

you know what - that is all that really matters! you have a stunning horse (sneeked a peek at your profile and pics!) and he is much loved - unless you plan to breed etc etc it really does not matter if he is not a registered freisian!
