im sorry but if foxes dont kill for fun then why have we had to pick up the ramains of 100 lambs this season.
im sorry but foxes kill live lambs they wind up the ewe with two lambs as she cant protect both at the same time then he kills single lamb. and yeah we are taking steps to protect the lambs by either poisoning the foxes or shooting them (because that is obvoiusly much more humane than hunting.
we never had this problem with foxes before the ban.

Foxes kill for survival not for fun.

What a load of rubbish!!!

As others have said they kill in a frenzy just like members of the weasel family do:rolleyes:

Ever heard the expression 'like a fox in the henhouse''???

Ask the farmers how many lambs/ducks/geese/chickens the list goes on het slaughtered every year by foxes and most of them are left to rot where they lie.

I think you have to get your head out of the books and internet and get out talking to people who actually live in the countryside:rolleyes:

So are we now going to have a rash of 'fluffy fox club' signatures to match the fluffy bunny ones?? At least the fluffy bunny ones were funny

Yay! I have cake to share! :p

Zani-I honestly can't remember, from what I can I believe we were in a minority of people who believe that killing a few foxes so we can keep a few chickens is right...but I could be wrong! :p

I can't believe this thread hasn't been locked - totally amazing!! Probably cos the mods are too busy wiping off all the revolting pervert threads!!!:D

ameliet1971 actually has a very good point and whether you choose to ignore or not that is up to you. Foxes DO kill for survival, if they don't hunt then they starve to death. The aim of foxes killing is not for fun, even if they do experience enjoyment. I can't see how one can compare humans chasing after a fox for enjoyment, to a fox killing for survival. Another point is, so many people enjoy hunting now that hunts can't possibly wan't to rid of all foxes, which leads to the question, is there actually any point of fox hunting if its purely for fun? Why not drag hunt?

It may sound stupid to some of you, but at times, you really need to imagine yourself in someone elses shoes (in this case, the foxes!). You can call foxes cruel, ill-natured and say they are vile things roaming the countryside, but at the end of the day, its the way nature intended them to be - hunt for survival.

I don't get this forum sometimes. All this "fluffy fox club" and "fluffy bunny club" talk - its all gob sh*te! Its like if you don't agree with the rest of us, then get discriminated and we won't respect your opinion.

QUOTE]

a lot of farmers want the hunts on their land, to control the foxes, same as stag hunting, it is now used to control the numbers,

i personally dont compare the 2, in all honesty the fox doesnt come in to my mind a lot, ok, so drag hunt i hear you say, i have been and its totally not the same,

Because there have been some quite heated differences of opinion and in most other threads when this happens, it gets locked! I'm not disagreeing with you, there have been some excellent posts made, its just nice to read them and have the opportunity to add your own thoughts, is all!

Phew! I've been trying to keep up with this thread, but it's been flat out!

Thought i'd try and add my input with a more light-hearted note that might make some chuckle during this heated thread in relation to this quote! :)

wont be long and the master lassoing the fox will be the only option open to a days hunting... lasso it on the wednesday, free it ready for the saturday!

My friend went out cubbing the other week with the neighbouring hunt. The master there had just employed a new groom from poland, who was an amazing rider, however apparently didn't quite understand the whole hunting concept and hardly spoke a word of english... Mr Charlie ran out from the bushes, and before the whipper-in could do anything, said Mr Polish, took off at breakneck speed in pursuit of the fox! Everyone, including the hounds and Foxy, looked slightly bemused by the whole thing. Next minute, Mr polak, still at flat out gallop, was up level with Charlie, feet out stirrups, either ready to pounce or lasso! :D

The master snapped out of his bewildered state and charged up to him and grabbed his jacket and guestered, in a language anyone would understand :p, that these actions were not quite the way to go. Needless to say, it had everyone, again including Foxy, the hounds and all hunt goers (and prob any antis/sabs) rolling on the floor with laughter! :D

I think it could be the way forward.... i personally love hunting, but i also love a good laugh, and for the sake of comedy value... i'd opt to have a crazy-polish fox catcher on my hunt anyday!! :D
