Most of central scotland is going on pretty much full lockdown tonight, apart from schools being open. I went up there on Monday to clear mum's house, North Lanarkshire, one of the areas. Her neighbour came bouncing into the house uninvited no mask on. The friends who came to help me load the van, no masks on. I haven't had anyone in our own house expect the chiropodist and he was fully masked and gloved and we had masks on.
A lady came to collect a wheelchair yesterday, she lives 4 miles away. she said that someone had moved into their village, from another one a few miles away, she was going to come in no mask, said that at their village no one bothered with masks and were popping in and out of houses as usual. We have had several cases in Hawick, our nearest town, and while we are in Level 2, whereas the central belt is on Level 4. But folks from Glasgow have been coming over here for day outs - Peebles is full of them, and we met some when we dog walked at Harestanes, So folks are just not paying attention to it.
"Borders was in level 1 or 2 was "finely balanced" and that the decision had taken into account the "interconnection with neighbouring areas", particularly with regards to healthcare provided by the Lothian and Greater Glasgow and Clyde health boards.
Level 2 means different households will not be able to meet in homes.
Stadium gatherings and events will be banned, other than those which are drive-in.
Venues such as soft play centres, funfairs and theatres will be shut. Cinemas and amusement arcades will remain open.
Pubs will be allowed to open indoors as long as they serve a main meal.
Schools will remain open with enhanced protections in place"
