Woo hoo I rode.

Just a little in the cavaletti pen.
He was full of dried mud. I only got the important bits..I did not want time to change my mind.

He was good ohhh out of the blue he offered the ball but its mostly flat
If he had stepped on it and popped it..that could have been a disaster..

I backed him off right away then we came back and i asked him to just touch it.
That was good...

My husband has now filled it up so hopefully if it clears tomorrow I will ride again and play with the ball 20210101_131114.jpg20210101_131038.jpg

I'm not sure I'll get much proper riding done the first few months due to saddle issues but it'll be nice to watch everyone else :)

Very very pleased with Hogan today. I took him into the paddock -bridle, no saddle and the mounting steps. Walked in large and small circles, halts, reverses. Then got on and did the same riding. He was a star, as we've never done it before. I'm so pleased, as it gives us something to do that's a bit different, and if the ground's hard or slippy.

That's awesome! Well done both of you :)

That's great @Trewsers :)

Had a bareback play in the school today, although our pre T4 polework clinic had been cancelled there were poles out so we had a play over various combinations. Really, really pleased with his trot transitions as he can get tight and bracey but he stayed super soft and relaxed despite a lot going on out of the school ❤

Think I might need to get my own bareback pad too!

Smashing pics! He's a lovely lad.

I took Hogan out this morning for an in hand walk.He was so naughty last time I rode out, i want to go back to basics, have a few walks, a few sessions in the paddock, some leading and bareback rides and we'll take it from there. He was very good, and actually walks up far better when being led - I think he gets better exercise. I do wonder if he gets bored sometimes, as I confess I don't vary things enough.

Quick play with Zi just now. We had the added distraction of Mackeral who decided she was going to do her best Chinchilla impression. Yes, rolling and rolling in the sandschool! But getting under our hooves somewhat! We had to sidestep her more than once. Zi was cheeky again today - he nipped my thumb. Grrr. I sometimes think he tries to treat me like another gelding. Joe used to do that with OH years ago. It isn't necessarily meant nastily - it's just trying to tell me how it is. But we ended on a good note and he went round the planks nicely. No photos today though - forgot the phone.

Took Hogan into the paddock today. Only about 15 mins, walking, circles etc then climbed on for the last 5 minutes. Very good boy, considering B was in the next field, yelling his head off, and the 4 across the lane were yelling back! Will walk him out in the forest on Friday.
